This cardigan has been through a lot of life experiences with me. It's been through more than a fair share of relationships, many moves, and even weight fluctuations (I used to love fast food). But when it comes time to clean my closet it always makes the cut. It's just a great staple to have. The color is fun and it instantly brightens up a drab outfit. I'm curious to see how long it actually sticks around... I think it will disintegrate before I make the decision to let it go!
I like to wear skirts over dresses, especially if the dress is a little longer than the skirt. I love the look of tiers and layers and this is the easiest way to pull that off. While I love peplum, I don't want to have a closet full of it.
I had such a lovely long weekend. I spent time with family, did some online shopping, decorated the house for Christmas, and ate waaaaay too much goodies! I hope you enjoyed your weekend as well :)
What a fun idea to wear a skirt over a dress to get a layered look going!! And I love this cardigan, such a good staple to have! I am glad it always makes the cut, it looks fantastic with your hair :) xJennaD
Ash, this look is so perfect, hahaha I cant let go of my favourite items as well but hey it still looks pretty. The two layers of your skirt is an eyecatcher l love it Ash :-)
I love the look of a knotted cardigan with a skirt! What a genius idea :) And layering dresses is one of my favorite tricks too. You get so much more mileage out of your closet that way. You look beautiful!
1. Your timeless mustard cardigan. Not surprised it makes the cut every time. 2. Your layering tip. Very clever! Thanks for sharing. 3. Clever title! Haha! 4. Leopard on your feet. 5. That you enjoyed your weekend! :)
The mustard cardigan is such a nice color, I love how you tied it for a more laid back look! And the skirt over dress thing is such a great idea, I usually only put a really poufy skirt underneath another flowy skirt to give it more structure but the tiers are so pretty! AND DANG those shoes are amazing, I really like the leopard print :)
That's funny - I recently starting doing the same thing with my skirts and I love it! For some reason wearing a skirt over a dress makes me feel like a cupcake..hehe...(and to me that's a good thing). This is adorable Ashley! The little leopard shoes really are the perfect cherry on the sundae <3
i love pieces that just stay with you like that - i have a few myself. and this skirt is just lovely on you. and the skirt over the dress thing is just brilliant
ooo i never thought of adding a longer skirt under a dress for a tiered look- that's a really cute idea! and i love how that sweater stuck around for so long. i have a few that don't really match anything anymore but i just don't have the heart to give them away. i'm glad to hear i'm not the only one ;) and yellow looks awwwwesome with your hair
I don't know what I love more. The fact that you and this cardi have an amazing history with each other, or how you are rockin the skirt over the dress look!
I can see why you've held onto this cardigan- the color is gorgeous! It looks adorable with this skirt too. I need to try layering more skirts over dresses! I always try it and it never quite works out.
great look!love the shoes :)

I'm not sure this outfit could be more perfect! You look amazing, love everything but especially the shoes.
ReplyDeleteI like these subtle details in this- like the knot in the cardigan, the two layers of "skirts" and skinny little maidbraids acting like a headband.

Love the look, that's actually a really cool 'experiment' with the skirt over the dress! And I wouldn't get rid of that cardigan either :) xo
