What's On My Radar: Current Loves

Cue all the pretty spring collections!  This is the best time of year for my closet (but not my wallet) and I'm constantly overwhelmed with all fun prints, bright colors, and light fabrics.  I've also included some shoes and toys because apparently, I'm the biggest kid alive.  Luckily, I'm also a mom so it's not super detectable ;).  Here are my favorites for this month:

Trashy Diva
  1. De Luxe Strawberry Brooch
  2. Dolly Tie Top in Red Gingham
  3. Zenzii Resin Hexagon Bangle
  4. Swedish Hasbeens Peep-Toe Super High Sandal in Green
  5. Classic Knee-Length Skirt in Berry Chantilly Print
  6. AJ Morgan Maxi Taxi Sunglasses
The new Berry Chantilly collection is so springy and sweet!  While I already have a few pieces, I particularly love this print with the gingham Dolly tie top and colorful accessories.  If you haven't tried mixing prints in your wardrobe already, this would be the perfect outfit to start!

Red Ruby Vintage
  1. Red Cutaway Dress in Midcentury Print
  2. Red Floral Summer Dress
  3. White Cotton Novelty Bird Print Sundress
  4. Marilyn Monroe Skirt
  5. Colonial Print Skirt
  6. Cartoon Print Skirt
I can't get enough of Gail's gorgeous handmade creations!  I've been shopping with her for years (like this one-of-a-kind beauty) and I'm always impressed with the detail and quality of her garments.  I actually have one of her creations on their way to me right now!  It's always a treat to see what she's going to list next.  Her self-proclaimed "fabric hoard" gives her endless options and keeps her customers on their toes!

Target Funko Pop
  1. Evil Queen
  2. Groot
  3. Judy Hopps
  4. BB-8
  5. Louise Belcher
My Funko Pop collection grows nearly every week.  I'm definitely addicted!  I love that Target has such a vast selection of Funko toys, they even have ones that are exclusive to the store.  Plus, you can shop online and pick up at the store.  If you're as lazy as this mom over here, this is a vital service!

Re-Mix Vintage Shoes
Remix Vintage Shoes
  1. Flora
  2. Capri
  3. Picasso
  4. Anita
  5. Twin Strap
  6. Vogue
  7. Scroll
Without a doubt, Re-Mix is my favorite place to find vintage-inspired shoes.  While the price point is a bit higher, you are paying for unbeatable quality and comfort.  I'm especially enamored with their low wedge sandals (Flora is my favorite).  They come in a wide variety of colors, styles, and they're great for everyday wear!

Voodoo Vixen
  1. Mavis Blue Cropped Cardigan
  2. Mira Deep Green Swing Shorts
  3. Gabby Striped Crop Top
  4. Hailey Striped High Waist Trousers
  5. Lizabeth Swing Summer Dress
The Voodoo Vixen spring collection is just so good!  I'm loving all the fun separates and the gorgeous floral print dresses.  I'm totally feeling those high waist trousers, I can see myself wearing them all summer.  Voodoo Vixen is also having an easter sale, I'd highly suggest taking a look if you need some extra cuteness in your closet!

Millie

Heart of Haute Millie Dress in Brilliant Print

I'm quite confident that Monday's aren't as bad if you're wearing something you truly love.  Heart of Haute recently released this Mille dress, which is a sister to the ever-so-popular Manhattan dress.  I happened to get a first look when I modeled for Heart of Haute a few months ago and I instantly fell in love!  Easily a button up and go kind of outfit, it's the perfect piece for those times when you want to look put together (but you're a secret mess on the inside).

Earrings- Betsey Johnson
Lipstick- Sephora Collection in Always Red

This dress is 100% sturdy cotton (my favorite) and features a complete button up closure on the front, a plunging v-neckline, flared skirt, hidden side pockets, and a tie in the back to accentuate your waist.  I was especially drawn to the sleeves; they provide enough coverage but they are in no way constricting.  This "brilliant" print is also my new favorite.  I love the black with the contrasting gold details.  As you can see, it's incredibly elegant but can easily be dressed down for everyday wear.  I went with my usual size small in Heart of Haute and the fit was just right.  If you're between sizes,  I would suggest sizing up.  Since it is a button closure, be sure to stick with your bust measurement to avoid gaping in that area.

Anyone in the Los Angeles area going to WonderCon this weekend?  I'll be attending on Saturday with a few friends.  We're also doing a light/fun cosplay, I can't wait to show you guys!  Keep your eyes peeled on Instagram if you want a front row seat to all the fun!

Pippa

Emily and Fin Pippa Dress in Blue Stripe Cuore and Pelle Abigail Bag in Orchid

When you live close enough to a desert in an area that (up until a few months ago) was in a massive drought, seeing greenery everywhere is incredibly exciting.  The once endless brown mountains are now green and filled with wildflowers.  As someone who enjoys photography, this has been the perfect opportunity to explore the world around me.  So I packed up my camera gear, my toddler, and my new Emily and Fin dress for an adventure!

Lipstick- Sephora Collection in Always Red

The Pippa dress is my newest go-to staple.  Because it's made from a light cotton, it's perfect for any warm-weather activity (like my mini-hike to get to this location).  It's fully lined so there's no need for a petticoat or slip.  It features a fold-over sweetheart bust line, wide shoulder straps, a flattering a-line skirt, and large side pockets.  The full back zippered closure allows you step in and out of it with ease, which is a huge plus for this wide-hipped lady.  I took my usual size XS/UK8 in this dress and it fits like a dream.  The size charts are incredibly accurate!  Here's to hoping there are more Pippa dresses in the future, because I will seriously buy every single one.

I feel so honored to team up with Cuore & Pelle, a group of women who make the cutest handbags.  With their mix of genuine and faux leather options in a rainbow of fun colors, it was really difficult to pick just one!  I opted for the Abigail in Orchid, which is a faux leather bag perfect for everyday use or even my camera equipment!  It's fully lined with tons of pockets and the cutest charms on the outside.  Measuring at 15"x10"x4", it can also be used as a mini diaper bag (how I wish I had this bag when Bianca was younger!).  You can also find the Abigail in four other colors, and like some huge surprise, I want them all!

Cinderella

Vintage Inspired by Jackie Atomic Jax Ella Dress in Cinderella Print

I know I'm a day late, but what better way to celebrate the arrival of spring than with this gorgeous dress from Vintage Inspired by Jackie?!  I'm certainly a huge fan of hers (if not the biggest, I can't get enough!) so when she debuted this new cut I knew I had to have it.  Nothing gives me more joy than wearing a perfectly fitted pink dress with a gorgeous Disney-inspired novelty print on it!

Flower crown- Handmade by Hannah of The Braided Bandit

This 1950's spaghetti strap dress has adjustable straps, a scoop neckline on the front and back, a full gathered skirt, and the biggest hidden side pockets.  I can easily step into this dress, thanks to the long back zippered closure.  Jackie made this dress to my measurements and (as always) it fits like a dream!  This gorgeous Cinderella-inspired print by Dapper Dino is perfect for frolicking around Disneyland or getting those daily errands done.  I may or may not have done both of those things in this dress already!

Today is an unexpected rainy day so I'll be relaxing at home with Bianca.  I'll also be prepping myself for Rosko's eye appointment tomorrow.  I'm trying not to freak out, but we will finally find out if his eye can be saved or not.  I know Rosko will be fine no matter what, but I'd prefer this be the end of his medical journey.  Plus, he's been wearing a cone 24/7 for a month now.  I'm sure he's dying to get that thing off!  I'll keep everyone updated on his progress in a post later this week.

Lemon Seville

The Pretty Dress Company Hepburn in Lemon Seville Bettie Page Shoes Abela Heel in Red

I don't think I could never have enough yellow dresses!  So when The Pretty Dress Company unveiled a lemony-hued Seville in the Hepburn swing (another favorite of mine), I knew I had to have it.  Perfect for a spring wedding or an Easter outing, the Lemon Seville will get tons of wear this season.  I decided to dress it down a bit for this post (at least for me) because the Hepburn is a super versatile staple.  I think the sheer amount The Pretty Dress Company in my closet is a testament to that!

The Hepburn has a structured, classic silhouette with the comfort to match.  It features half sleeves, a v-neckline in the back, full box-pleated skirt, and a back zippered closure.  It's made from a slightly stretchy cotton sateen, which has a bit of give for ease of wear.  I went with my usual UK8 and the dress fits like a dream!  When figuring out your size, make sure to go with your bust size.  I feel like the Hepburn is roomier in the waist than it is in the bust, so make sure you leave enough room for your girls!

This weekend is filled with lots of fun girl time.  I'm meeting up with a long-time IG bestie at Disneyland and celebrating one of my favorite friend's birthdays later that day.  Being a stay-at-home mom doesn't allow me to have too much alone time, so I surely take advantage when I get the chance!  If you're interested, you can keep up with my weekend adventures on my Instagram.

Hamilton

Unique Vintage 1950s Style Pale Peach & White Stripe Hamilton Swing Dress

Spring is finally in full swing and I couldn't be happier!  I can do away with my cardigans and show off my favorite spring staple: sundresses!  The Hamilton dress from Unique Vintage is an undisputed favorite and I'm sure you can see why.  The sweet-as-candy stripes, adorable covered buttons, and figure-flattering silhouette will have you dancing with glee as soon as you put it on.  I mean, doesn't everyone have that reaction to a pretty new dress?

The Hamilton is made from a light 100% cotton that is perfect for the warmer months ahead.  It features adjustable tie straps, faux-buttons down the bodice, matching rope belt, a gathered swing skirt, exposed pocket on the right side, and a side zip closure.  I'm constantly between an XS/S in UV brand clothing, but I took an XS in the Hamilton.  The waist is a great fit, but the bust is a bit more constricting if you have a larger bust (unlike me).  I would go with your regular size, unless you need to accommodate for your bust.  If you're not a pink fan, this dress also comes in green.  I'm crossing my fingers that there will be a rainbow of Hamilton dresses in the future!

For anyone wanting an update on Rosko: he's doing great!  He's on several antibiotics that I have to administer multiple times a day, but it seems to be helping.  Although his eyeball is still red, I can finally see his iris.  He hates wearing his "cone of shame" 24 hours a day, but anything to keep him from rupturing his eye is worth it.  It's quite apparent that he only has light sensitivity and no actual sight, but we're trying to keep him from another surgery.  We will find out early next week whether the eye can be saved or not.  My very wonderful and amazing friend/artist Stephanie Buscema has donated a HUGE gift bag filled with her artwork, accessories, and jewelry that hasn't been released yet!  I'm auctioning off the goodies on my Instagram, and all the proceeds will go to Rosko's medical needs.  To get more details/if you're interested in bidding, follow the link HERE.

Freaky Tiki

Hearts and Found Dolly Dress in Freaky Tiki Print Bettie Page Shoes Abela Heel in Red

When you live in Southern California, going from freezing rainstorms to 80-degree temperatures is considered normal.  Because you never know how long these gorgeous days will last, I quickly pulled out one of my favorite dresses from Hearts and Found.  I know I probably say that about all of Marjorie's creations, but her designs, fabrics, and custom sizing really speak to my wardrobe.  I have quite a strict "no halter top" rule (they hurt my neck) but the Dolly dress is both cute and incredibly comfortable!

The Dolly dress is fully lined, has elastic shirring on the sides, the cutest cutout detail on the bodice, and a full gathered skirt with deep pockets.  While it would be quite impossible to hide a bra under this style, I feel completely supported by the dress (and I've had a baby!).  While I normally wear a petticoat, this skirt is full enough to go without.  Higher temps require as little layers as possible!  As always, Marjorie is more than happy to make any of her dresses with your exact measurements.  Every single one of my Hearts and Found dresses fit me like a glove!

If you haven't caught up on my Instagram lately, we just adopted Rosko, a 13-year old chihuahua with one eye.  Unfortunately, that eye is badly infected and we're going through a long process of treatments to save it.  It may or may not survive, so this week has been emotionally taxing on me and my family.  We've started a GoFundMe to help pay for his treatments and maybe a surgery to remove the eye if needed.  If you'd like to donate, share, or just read more about Rosko's story, click HERE!

Berry Chantilly

Trashy Diva 40's Dress in Berry Chantilly Print Rockabilly Baby Posey Dress in Berry Chantilly Print

I can't think of a single thing more appropriate for a spring wardrobe than a piece from Trashy Diva's new Berry Chantilly collection.  The delicate yellow hue, the umbrella and strawberry bloom motif, and the flirty, figure-flattering cuts are the perfect match for the warmer weather ahead.  Made from my favorite fabric of all time, buttery-soft stretch rayon, this collection feels just as luxurious as it looks!  You can read more about the collection, along with our style choices (the 1940's and the Rockabilly Baby Posey dresses), below!

Much like any of Trashy Diva's stretch rayon collections, Berry Chantilly feels comfortable when you wear it and has lots of give.  I chose the 1940's dress, which features gentle gathers on the bodice, a banded waist, a-line skirt, and a back zip with double hook and eye closure.  While I'm no stranger to the 1940's dress (it's quickly become my favorite style), this is my first in stretch rayon.  I'm always between a size 2/4, but I take a 4 in the 1940's due to the fused banded waist.  This was the first time I took my smaller size 2!

I'm always excited when Trashy Diva includes a Rockabilly Baby style to their collections.  Bianca (like her mommy) is a huge fan and has accumulated quite a collection herself!  The Posey dress features a square neckline, gathered swing skirt, and a back zippered closure.  The minute Bianca put her dress on she twirled herself dizzy!  Bianca is only three, but I picked a size 5/6 for her so she could get lots of wear from it.  It might be a little big on her, but it's definitely wearable now and for years to come!

I'm gearing up for a fun spring with Bianca!  We have a few Disneybound outfits planned for our next few trips, we're going to see Beauty and the Beast together (I seriously cannot wait), and we'll be going to Viva Las Vegas in April.  I cant wait to share these experiences with her, especially now that she's old enough to remember them.  I'm hoping her "spring breaks" with me will be the most memorable.  If you're a mommy, what kind of activities do you do with your children?
