Star Wars Style

If you're new here then you'll find out very quickly: I am obsessed with Star Wars.  Maybe it's weird but Star Wars, in some small way at least, is definitely a part of my everyday life.  Which means it effects my fashion too!  Whether I'm Disneybounding at Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland or just going to work, I have several fun outfits for every possible occasion.  I've highlighted a few of my favorites and believe me, it was so difficult to narrow it down to just four!

Return of the Jedi

New year, same fandom!  As I'm sure you already know, I am a huge Star Wars fan.  Everything from home decor, tattoos, and clothing: I have it all!  Vintage Inspired by Jackie has been my go-to for all my Star Wars styles and this dress is no exception.  Made from vintage bed sheets, this Return of the Jedi dress is the perfect piece to wear while you explore Endor, Batuu, and everything in between!

This dress was made to my measurements (which is always spot on) and features adjustable straps, boning in the bodice, a full gathered skirt, and a hidden side pocket.  I love the contrast yellow fabric on the neckline and the bottom of the skirt.  It's the perfect pop of color!  This dress can be worn with or without a petticoat but I prefer it without.  You can find this dress and many other Disney inspired designs on Jackie's site HERE!

Dark Side

The big weekend is finally here: The Rise of Skywalker is out!  I've been looking forward to this day for quite some time and (as you can imagine) I had to dress the part.  Vintage Inspired by Jackie has been my go-to for all my Disneybound outfits for years and she did not disappoint!  She took my favorite Sith Lord and turned him into an amazing dress.  You can read more about her business below!

This Darth Vader Disneybound dress is made to my measurements and features a flattering sweetheart neckline, adjustable spaghetti straps, full gathered skirt with a side pocket, and a back zippered closure.  It also has the infamous Vader detailing on the bodice.  It's very subtle but people who love Star Wars as much as I do will totally get it!  It's made from a breathable cotton so I can wear it to the new movie or even an entire day at Disney comfortably.  I paired this dress with my beloved Vader flats for the perfect everyday Star Wars look!  I have a cape and gloves to match but I figured I would keep this more light cosplay than a full on Disneybound.

Jolly Holiday

I feel like it's been much too long since I've featured a Disneybound outfit on this blog.  Now that I'm working and Bianca is in school, our Disney trips have come to a complete halt.  Let's be real though: you don't need to be at the park to Disneybound!  Vintage Inspired by Jackie has been my one and only source for Disneybound outfits and she really outdid herself with this one.  As a child, I was obsessed with the Jolly Holiday scene from Mary Poppins and I can't tell you how excited I am that I now own a dress to commemorate that scene!

This new dress style features a sweetheart neckline, lined bodice with boning, adjustable spaghetti straps, off the shoulder sleeves, a full gathered skirt with a hidden side pocket, and a back zippered closure.  I love how I can wear the straps up or down and I appreciate that they're adjustable as well.  This dress was made to my measurements and (as always) it's spot on.  The bodice is really supportive that I didn't even need to wear a bra!  I chose to skip the petticoat for these pictures, I wanted to show you how full this skirt is on its own.  I'm counting the days until I can wear this again, hopefully when I visit Mary Poppins in the park in a few weeks!

This Is Halloween

I'm really feeling that Holiday spirit this week and I couldn't wait to break out one of my favorite dresses: the Nightmare Before Christmas dress from Vintage Inspired by Jackie!  Made to my measurements from vintage bed sheets, Jackie takes one of my all-time favorite movies and turns it into wearable art.  While I've been known to wear this dress all year around, it's been getting extra attention this month!

The Nightmare Before Christmas dress features a fitted bodice with adjustable spaghetti straps, a full gathered skirt with a hidden side pocket, and a full back zippered closure.  As usual, I gave Jackie my measurements and she made another perfectly fitting dress for my body.  I paired it will my Heart of Haute Estelle top for a bit more modesty and warmth, but I enjoy wearing this dress on its own as well.  Jackie has lots of different bed sheets to choose from, so you can create the dress of your dreams in your favorite fandom!

This weekend is packed full of fun events, which is not like my usual schedule.  I'm working a really fun event today, attending a Halloween market tomorrow, and doing something special with my family on Sunday.  I'm pretty sure I'm going to be spent by Monday but the memories will be worth the lack of sleep!

Walking in Spiderwebs

You've Got A Friend In Me

It's been some time since I've posted a fun Disneybound here on my blog so I was excited to debut this Woody-inspired outfit from Vintage Inspired by Jackie.  If you're not already familiar with Jackie's business, she's the infinitely talented woman behind all my bound outfits I wear to the park and my vintage bed sheet dresses/separates.  She makes everything herself and puts so much love into each and every piece, I'm proud to have so many of her creations in my closet!

Tale As Old As Time

Is there anything better than a fun Disneybound?  Anyone who knows me is aware of my Beauty and the Beast obsession (I did name my child after Belle, you know).  It's by far my favorite Disney movie so I'm always looking for fun Disneybound outfits to wear to Disneyland and beyond.  The queen of Disneybound designs, Vintage Inspired by Jackie, came up with this take on Mrs. Potts and I fell head over heels in love with this dress!  A perfect homage to the beloved character but cute and comfy enough to wear on the regular, this dress is a wearable piece of art.

The Mrs. Potts dress is made from lush 100% cotton and features a sweetheart neckline, fully lined bodice, adjustable straps, a super full gathered skirt with a hidden side pocket, and a back zippered closure.  This dress is made so intricately, everything from the custom sizing to the ric rac trim.  Jackie made this to my measurements, but I've since lost a few pounds so it's just a tad big in the waist on me now.  But the belt was the perfect touch!  I have yet to wear this to Disneyland, but I have a feeling it will make its debut this spring!  If you're looking for a custom made, high quality Disneybound outfit, I highly recommend contacting Jackie.  If she doesn't have the bound you're looking for, she's more than happy to make your dream come true!  That's what she did for my Loki dress!

Can I just talk about these pictures for a minute?  A few weeks ago I went out to photograph this dress and the results were disastrous.  The lighting was off, my hair was a mess, I hated them so much.  I decided to scrap them and take them again the next time I had a free moment.  Well, I rescheduled and went out to take these photos on a cloudy day, which can be ideal because you don't have to worry about shadows.  Unfortunately, it started raining hard the minute I had finished setting up my camera.  Rain and lots of unprecedented wind.  While it was complicated, I definitely got it done.  I quickly started to break down my gear and guess what happened?  The wind and rain stopped.  Of course by this time, my hair and makeup was a mess and this dress was quite damp.  You best believe I was cursing the clouds at that moment!  Thankfully, I had taken enough photos to get the ones you see here and I'm pretty happy with them (considering the circumstances).  Hopefully this was just a fluke situation, I don't think I can take many more weather sabotages!

Haunted Mansion

Who says you can't be in the Halloween spirit all year long?!  As an avid Disney and Halloween fan, this Haunted Mansion inspired dress from Vintage Inspired by Jackie is the perfect addition to my closet.  Perfect for a day at the park (Disneybound, anyone?) but easily workable into your everyday wardrobe, this dress was made to turn a few heads!

This spooky frock is made from 100% cotton and features a Peter Pan collar, short sleeves, a fitted bodice, contrast midriff panel, full gathered skirt with a hidden side pocket, and a back zippered closure.  As always, Jackie made this dress specific to my measurements and it was the perfect fit.  The fabric is super light and breathable but maintains that nice, stiff feel.  While I am wearing a petticoat for these pictures, you can easily go without one.  I can't wait to take this one to the park (specifically to The Haunted Mansion) for the first time!

Bianca and I are headed to Disneyland today for a girls day.  We are trying to get in as many Disney days as possible before the spring breakers crowd up the place!  January is usually quite slow so we're hoping to get on as many rides as possible.  And of course, eat lots of treats and enjoy a mint julep in New Orleans square.  Fell free to follow our day of adventure on my Instagram!

Something There

It's not everyday that I get to dress like my favorite Disney princess.  Thankfully, Vintage Inspired by Jackie is always there when the mood strikes!  She recently asked me who my ultimate princess was/what outfit of hers was my favorite.  So naturally, I went with Belle and her gorgeous (and often looked-over) green dress.  Not only is this dress confortable and worthy of a great Disneybound or cosplay, it's subtle enough to wear everyday!

This halter dress has a lined bodice with boning (you seriously do not need to wear a bra), gathered skirt with a hidden side pocket, and a back zippered closure.  As always, Jackie made this to my measurements and it was the perfect fit.  While the skirt is incredibly full on its own, I opted for a petticoat for a more "princessy" feel.  I love the vibrant green fabrics she used and I feel like she nailed this dress for my personal style.  Is Belle not your thing?  Jackie does some amazing Marvel-inspired dresses and is always open to collaborating and making your cosplay/bound dreams come true!  Just send her a message, tell her I sent you ;).

This already feels like the longest week ever and it's only Tuesday.  I had to take one of my dogs to the vet (which came to a very hefty vet bill), my daughter is on the tail end of a nasty cold, and I haven't been able to blog for the past week because Southern California is having crazy high winds/on fire and my backlog is stressing me out.  This is the first year I've finished my Christmas shopping early but it feels like everything else has gone haywire!  Thankfully, things shoud be winding down and I'll finally have time to take care of business.  At least I hope so!
