Renaissance Girl

Selkie Tea Rose Dress in Renaissance Girl

It's officially spring and I had to debut one of my favorite dresses for the occasion!  I love this season because the blooms literally make me feel alive and my spirit feels invigorated after the grind of winter and the endless holidays we have to celebrate during that time.  Selkie has a new collection dropping this week and this Renaissance Girl tea rose dress is one of the stars.  Made from a light, crisp cotton that's perfect for the warmer months ahead with a romantic floral print that makes me almost as happy as the blooms in my garden.

The tea rose dress is a classic retro silhouette with ruffled puff sleeves, a fitted bodice with bust cups and underwire, a full skirt, and y'all: it has pockets!  This is my very first Selkie dress with pockets and I am so happy about it!  This style is super easy to wear and I love absolutely everything about it.  I typically wear a size small in cotton styles and this dress fits perfectly in a small.  I have a very large bust so if I had to be picky, I would wish the cups were just a bit bigger.  But I'm totally okay with the fit and I can't wait to wear this dress to all the spring functions this season.

The rest of the Spring 2022 Out of the Tower collection is absolutely stunning and I'm planning on grabbing another piece or two as soon as possible.  It's full of gorgeous prints and new styles that are perfect for spring and beyond!

Stay Puft

Vixen by Micheline Pitt Ghostbusters Argyle Plaid Bardot Beauty Swing Dress

As usual, spring has sprung a little early here in Southern California and I'm enjoying every minute of it!  It's still a little chilly (aka not in the 90's) and the blooms are on their way.  I try to be a little more present around this time of year because it's just the smallest slice of perfection that will disappear within a blink of an eye.  This Vixen by Micheline Pitt x Ghostbusters dress feels like a representation of me: a little bit cottage core and a little bit spooky.  I wore it to a Halloween event last year but I feel like it needed a little spring remix!

This dress is the classic Bardot Beauty with a Ghostbusters spin!  I've talked in length about this dress before, which you can read HERE, but long story short: it's one of my favorite Vixen styles.  I like that you can wear the dress on or off the shoulders and it's just so flattering!  The argyle print looks innocent from afar but when you get close you can see it has Slimer, Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, terror dogs, and the No Ghost logo all over it.  I paired it with the matching Stay Puft novelty bag because honestly, I've never met a novelty purse I didn't like.  This dress is available in sizes XS-4X and I wear my usual size small with ease.

This week has been a little hectic with a work deadline, helping with Bianca's homework, and also getting her to her theater rehearsals.  I was lucky enough to have a morning to myself earlier in the week to kind of balance the chaos!  I'll be retreating to my office for the foreseeable future but I'll make sure to take some breaks and actually enjoy the blooms before they leave and bring on the eternal summer heat.

xoxo
