The cupcake gingham dress is an extremely voluminous piece that features a square neckline, puff sleeves, gathered skirt with hidden side pockets, attached back tie and a back zippered closure. I'm not kidding when I say this dress makes a statement! It's fully lined and has two layers of stiff tulle underneath to maintain that cupcake look. I'm wearing my usual size 4 and I have to say, it's pretty roomy. I think I would have sized down to a 2 if I had known. If you're a regular customer and you already know your Ivy City size, I would recommend going down one. Bianca's wearing a size 9-10 and it's the perfect fit for her. The cupcake gingham dress is available in sizes 00-34 for adults, 12mo to 13-14 for kids, and 0-12mo for babies. Jack-O-Lantern

 

I'm fully settled into my Summerween wardrobe thanks to Unique Vintage! Every year they're one of the first clothing companies to drop their Halloween collections and as usual, it's pretty great! One of the first pieces I picked up was this jack-o-lantern pinafore. I'm a huge fan of the spooky pinafores they've offered in the past and this one is just as cute as the rest. Bianca immediately had to try it on just in case it fit her. While she still has a few more years before she can start raiding my dress closet, she has already claimed this one as her own!

This pinafore is made from a corduroy fabric and features a pumpkin bib, skater skirt with front exposed pockets, adjustable straps and a back zippered closure. I sized up to a medium for this piece because I like a little extra length in the straps and waist room for when I wear a chunky sweater underneath. I'm overall happy with the fit and I adore how I can take this piece from summer to fall with some layering pieces. The jack-o-lantern pinafore is available in sizes XS-4X. Ruby Slippers

 

Feels like the perfect day for a trip to the Emerald City! I'm over the moon that Harvey's has collaborated with WB to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the classic film The Wizard of Oz. From the beautiful costumes to the iconic music, The Wizard of Oz is beloved and has inspired generations of fans over 85 years. I'm so honored that I get to show you a sneak peek of one of the pieces Harvey's will be offering in this collection: the Ruby Slippers Bow Lolita bag.

The Lolita is an extremely popular bag with Harvey's fans but this is actually my first one! The Lolita is a petite handbag made from seatbelts and offers two handles, a detachable and adjustable crossbody strap, ruffle detail on the sides and fully lined interior with a zipper pocket and two open pockets inside. Since this is a Bow Lolita, it also has an adorable bow on the front side of the bag. Harvey's took so much into consideration when turning this Lolita into a Wizard of Oz inspired bag. The seatbelts are a sparkly red, just like the ruby slippers. The charm on the side is of Dorothy with her wicker bag and ruby slippers, the lining is blue gingham with red poppies and the zipper pull at the top of the bag is a ruby slipper. It was obviously designed with love and both Bianca and I will love this bag for a lifetime!

Does it get any more summer than a swimsuit?! I'll be honest, I spend very little time in the sun or at the pool. But because I'm a mom with a summer-loving kid, I'll grab a cute suit and enjoy the day in lots of shade with a book. This Barbie x Unique Vintage classic chevron suit is a homage to the original 1959 Barbie doll and perfect for my spooky summer style.

This swimsuit features the classic black and white chevron print with a sweetheart neckline and adjustable and removable straps. The original Barbie suit doesn't have straps but I love that this one includes them if you need them (and I definitely do). I'm wearing a size medium, which is my usual size for Unique Vintage bathing suits. I would say it's a fit for the most part but I wish the suit itself were a couple of inches longer. I have a long torso and usually have a hard time finding one-piece suits that accommodate me. Thanks to the straps, I can wear this suit without worrying about the top riding down.

I decided to pair this suit with some spooky accessories for a cute "I'm at the pool but never in the pool" kind of outfit. These tap shorts from La Femme En Noir are a staple in my closet, especially in summer. I love that they look like a cute skirt but function like shorts. I topped this look off with some Barbie inspired sunglasses and my favorite bat shaped wicker purse. Just because summer makes me sad it doesn't mean that my outfits have to be!

Hot ghoul summer is here! I'm usually a fan of sleeves but they're almost impossible to wear right now. I've officially reached the time where I'm looking for all the sleeveless options. I had been eyeing this Hemlock dress from Ovate for well over a year and I finally gave in this spring. This piece is light, fits like a dream and is perfect for all my summerween plans!

Since Ovate operates in Canada, I wanted to make sure I got the right size. I waffled between a small and a medium but ultimately went with the medium so I could wear long sleeved shirts underneath during the cooler months. I could have worn the small but I like having the extra room for layers. This dress is so beautiful and easy to wear, I wish I had it in all the colors they offer! If I had to be picky, I would say that this dress needs some pockets and I wish they offered more sizes but I'm overall very happy with the Hemlock dress. I'm super excited to show off these new accessories from Lipstick and Chrome! I live for cute lucite purses and this Art Deco inspired marbled bag is perfect for fancy and/or spooky functions in my future. I also look forward to their collaboration with Johanna Parker every year and these Bloomin' Luna pieces are *everything*. I know it's still summer but these cuties really get me excited about the most wonderful time of the year! It's summer break, y'all! Bianca is home for the summer which means we have lots of fun adventures planned. One of the first things we did is take a nature hike at one of our favorite parks. The Rowan dress is a new style and features a smocked bodice with functional buttons down the front, puff sleeves and a tiered skirt with hidden side pockets. This dress is super stretchy so I took my smaller size XS and it's a great fit. Bianca went with a 9-10 and it fits her with a little room to grow. I'm overall happy with this dress and I'm glad Bianca and I have yet another outfit that we can twin in!

There's nothing that inspires me to wear black more than summer. I'm just counting the days until Halloween at this point, I only have to wait one more season! Since fall is basically a *little* less hot than our summers, I lean in hard to my spooky yet summer functional wardrobe. And you know who does that best? Lively Ghosts. The thistlebloom corset is made from a sturdy fabric and features boning built inside, lace detail at the neckline, grommet and bow detail at the straps and a lace back closure with satin ribbon. I saw this corset runs a little small so I went with a medium and it's a great fit. I love how it looks paired with this Selkie dress but I've also worn it with a peasant sleeve top and shorts and it was such a great look. Seriously, I feel like I could add this piece to so many things in my closet!
