Halloween is nearly here and I am not ready! I have too many outfits to show off and not enough time to post them here. I mean, you'll probably see more after this month because everyday is a spooky occasion! But I wanted to show off something special for my last post of October. This skirt from Vixen by Micheline Pitt is such a comfy new style and perfect for the Halloween season.

The corset skirt is made from a cotton sateen and features a thick waistband, deep side pockets, a lace up front and a back zippered closure. The lace feature allows you to tie the waistband as tight as you like so it has more of a tailor made fit. I'm wearing my usual size small and it fits great! Grave Familiar

 

Am I the only one that thinks October has been passing too fast? I swear, I look forward to this season all year long and when it's finally here it feels like I almost miss it! One of the highlights this month was receiving this Grave Familiar dress from Lively Ghosts. They released their very first dress collection earlier this year and this piece was my favorite from the bunch! Perfect for a trip to the pumpkin patch or a stroll through the graveyard at sunset.

The Grave Familiar dress is made from 100% cotton and features a button down bodice, long sleeves, a below the knee skirt, and a side zippered closure. I'm wearing a size small (which is where I ended up on the size chart) and it fits everywhere but the bust. Unfortunately, the bust was a little too small but I sewed in some snaps between the buttons to make it fit. If it weren't sold out I would have sized up. While this dress and the rest of their 31 Collection has sizes available from S-3X, the sizing does run quite small in the plus range. The great thing about this small business is that they've heard the comments from their customers and will be adjusting and expanding their sizing on their next collection. Spooky Harlequin

 

Feels good to be back! After a trip to Oregon, a trip to Disneyland, shopping days and fall break, everything is seemingly back to normal. Bianca and I traveled to Oregon to visit my brother who moved there earlier this year. It's been a very long time since I've been in the PNW and I completely forgot how much I love it there. My brother's home is nestled in the forest and it truly felt like a soul-cleansing experience to be surrounded by nature and not work, Bianca's never-ending homework, and the soul sucking nature of everyday life. As much as I enjoyed turning off, I did bring one spooky outfit to shoot while on vacation. What's a trip to a forest without the perfect outfit to match?

I love the new Trick R Treat collection from Vixen by Micheline Pitt. It's a combination of old styles you know and love and new styles that are bound to become new favorites. This skirt is a little bit of both! While the shape itself is a classic gathered skirt, the skater length is new! I'm not really short or tall at 5'6" so I can wear either length comfortably. Personally, I enjoy the skater length because it feels easier to wear and less vintage. Don't get me wrong: I love vintage! But these days I tend to wear more comfortable and practical items from my closet. As usual, I'm wearing my normal size small and it's a perfect fit. I paired the skirt with my favorite Vixen top, the Carnival in black. I swear I need a backup already because I wear this one so much!
