Cupid

Retrolicious Cupid Jumper in Black

My Valentine's Day series continues!  The great thing about dressing for this holiday is that you can wear everything year round.  Hearts and love in general is an everyday mentality!  The Valentine's Day collection from Retrolicious has plenty of festive options that you can wear for a date, a Galentine's brunch, and basically any other time you're feeling extra cute.

The Cupid jumper is made from a thick and stretchy knit ponte and features an adorable heart shaped bodice, adjustable crisscross straps, a mini a-line skirt, and finished with a back zippered closure.  I'm usually a size small in Retrolicious styles but I decided on a medium in the Cupid jumper.  Since I have bigger hips, I wanted to give them a little room by sizing up.  If this isn't an issue for you, your usual size should be fine!

I paired this jumper with one of my favorite pieces of all time: the mock neck top.  This super stretchy top is buttery soft and goes with absolutely everything.  As I'm typing this I'm wearing one right now!  I'm wearing my usual size small and this top is quite stretchy and roomy.  I would maybe size down if you're not super busty, but I think taking your usual size is best.  This top comes in a few prints and solids and I absolutely need them all!

You can shop both of these pieces on the Retrolicious site right now.  Their pieces are made right here in the USA and proudly produce their products in sizes XS-4X.

Valentine's Day Gift Guide

I know Valentine's Day isn't for a few weeks but I wanted to share some of my favorite love-themed pieces for the big day!  I love a casual Valentine's look (especially since I will be working on February 14th) and this guide has the perfect items for your ensemble at all price points.  It's also a guide to point your true love in the right direction for a fantastic gift ;)  Take a look at my picks below!

Southern California Belle Valentine's Day Gift Guide
1. Stripes and Hearts Raglan Top
2. Red and Pink Hearts Open Cardigan
3. Red and Pink Stripe Love is in the Air Cardigan
4. Black and Red Heart Print Shift Dress

Unique Vintage just released their Love Game collection and it is full of amazing Valentine's Day items!  Find everything from dresses, shoes, accessories, and the greatest casual wear ever!  I'm all about their cardigans, I wish I could add them all to my closet!

Southern California Belle Valentine's Day Gift Guide
1. Tie Neck Heart Print Blouse
2. Heart Print Ribbed Knit Sweater
3. Heart Print Notch Collar Blouse
4. Button Front Heart Knit Cardigan

Shein is a great site for lower price point items.  They offer lots of fun heart print pieces (including some super cute lingerie) but these four cuties are at the top of my list.  That tie neck blouse is to die for!  I would definitely rock that all year round.

Southern California Belle Valentine's Day Gift Guide
1. Polka Dot Fur Coat
2. Faux Fur Heart Bag
3. Gabriela Platform Oxford
4. Stripe Bow Back Sweater

As I'm sure you already know, I am obsessed with the Halogen x Atlantic-Pacific collection.  There are so many cute pink and red pieces to add to your Valentine's Day ensembles!  I picked up this super cute polka dot coat.  It goes with everything and is incredibly warm.  I feel like I need the matching heart purse to round out the outfit, don't you think?

Southern California Belle Valentine's Day Gift Guide
1. Heart Print Round Neck Sweater
2. Pom Pom Heart Knit Sweater
3. Sequined Mesh Tulle Skirt
4. Contrast Color Fuzzy Hearts Sweater

Another great site with lower price points, Chicwish has so many pretty in pink pieces!  I'm especially enamored with this tulle skirt.  It's glittery, pink, and perfect for twirling!  If you're not a pink fan, they also have this skirt and the pom pom sweater in other great colors.

Have you decided your look for Valentine's Day yet?  What's your favorite piece from my gift guide?  Let me know in the comments below!

Pastel Tulle

Halogen x Atlantic Pacific Tiered Tulle Skirt

Is there anything prettier than a tulle skirt?  I've been wearing tulle for at least as long as I've been posting on this blog and I don't intend to stop... ever!  This tiered tulle skirt is from the Halogen x Atlantic-Pacific collection from Nordstrom and I am completely obsessed!  It's lightweight and a complete showstopper which means it's perfect for a Valentine's Day inspired outfit.

Top- Nordstrom
Skirt- Nordstrom (currently 40% off)
Shoes- H&M (similar)
Jacket- c/o Sarsparilly
Sunglasses- Amazon
Headband- c/o Unique Vintage

This skirt is fully lined and features three tiers of pink and purple pastel tulle.  It has an elastic waistband so it's super easy to wear and falls at a midi length on my 5'6" frame.  I will say: this skirt definitely runs large!  I'm wearing a small and it barely works with my waist.  I wish it came in an XS for the perfect fit.  I decided to keep it because look at how pretty it is and I can definitely wear it with a belt to cinch in the waist.  This skirt is currently 40% off and comes in sizes S-2X (3X if you consider how large the sizing is).

I paired my skirt with one of my favorite new jackets from Sarsparilly.  The Veronica jacket is made from a soft faux leather and features the cutest heart shaped patches on the elbows!  I'm comfortably wearing an XS because it does run large.  This jacket also comes in blue (which I also have) and has sizing from XS-4X (5X if you consider the larger sizing).

Would you wear this outfit for Valentine's Day?  I could see myself wearing this on a casual date with Kevin or a Galentine's Day brunch with my favorite girls.  Not your favorite Valentine's Day look?  Not to worry, I'll have lots more love-ly outfits posted here before February 14th so stay tuned!

Insects and Bugs

It's that time again: Erstwilder has a new collection!  Their first range of 2020 is a good one!  Both Bianca and I love insects and bugs so we are very excited to promote this new range.  Featuring twenty one pieces (three necklaces, five pairs of earrings, and thirteen brooches), you're guaranteed to find at least one piece you love.  But let's be real, you'll probably find more!

Erstwilder Insects And Bugs

Erstwilder To Bee Or Not To Bee
Brooch- c/o Erstwilder
Dress- Target

This is Bianca's favorite of the bunch!  This bee is the perfect size, has gorgeous and vibrant colors, and I love the detail in the wings.  You can also wear him upside down too, which is also very cute!

Erstwilder Bumble Butt
Brooch- c/o Erstwilder
Top- Sister Jane
Skirt- Patty Flores

To nobody's surprise, my favorite is also a bee brooch!  Bumble Butt is takes after her name: she's so cute!  I love her fuzzy look and the detail in her wings.  I'm so happy they offered different bee designs and I couldn't help but get them both!

Erstwilder Reticulated Rebel
Brooch- c/o Erstwilder
Dress- Target

This design was calling Bianca: she loves snails!  The marbled resins on this brooch are so bright and it's a pretty good size.  He will definitely be the star of your outfit!

Erstwilder The 17 Year Sleep
Brooch- c/o Erstwilder
Top- Sister Jane
Skirt- Patty Flores

This brooch is simply stunning.  If you're familiar with Erstwilder brooches, he comes in the larger box because of his wide wingspan.  He (like all the other winged creatures in this range) has gorgeous wings and the resin of his body is so vibrant.  I can see myself wearing this cutie over and over again!

You can find all of these brooches (and much, much more) on the Erstwilder site right now!  They're also donating $1 of every brooch sale to Wildlife Victoria and Victorian Bushfire Appeal during the month of January.  So you can get your favorite brooches and help contribute relief to the devastating fires in Australia.  Which designs in this range are your favorites?  Let me know in the comments below!

Return of the Jedi

Vintage Inspired by Jackie Return of the Jedi Sheet Dress

New year, same fandom!  As I'm sure you already know, I am a huge Star Wars fan.  Everything from home decor, tattoos, and clothing: I have it all!  Vintage Inspired by Jackie has been my go-to for all my Star Wars styles and this dress is no exception.  Made from vintage bed sheets, this Return of the Jedi dress is the perfect piece to wear while you explore Endor, Batuu, and everything in between!

Dress- c/o Vintage Inspired by Jackie
Shoes- Irregular Choice
Belt- Vixen by Micheline Pitt
Lipstick- Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain in Always Red

This dress was made to my measurements (which is always spot on) and features adjustable straps, boning in the bodice, a full gathered skirt, and a hidden side pocket.  I love the contrast yellow fabric on the neckline and the bottom of the skirt.  It's the perfect pop of color!  This dress can be worn with or without a petticoat but I prefer it without.  You can find this dress and many other Disney inspired designs on Jackie's site HERE!

I've been off since before Christmas and today is my last day off.  It's a little bittersweet because Bianca is still on break for another two weeks.  I wish I could spend it with her!  We're planning to have a fun last day before I go back to work and I have some fun surprises up my sleeve.  If you wanna follow along with us, make sure to follow me on Instagram and check out my stories!

xoxo
