Roosevelt

I know everyone is transitioning their wardrobe to match the cooler climate, but I'm over here sweating like it's the middle of June.  I'm used to (and enjoy) the eternal summers and it allows me to wear pretty dresses all year around.  This Roosevelt dress from Unique Vintage it just as comfortable as it is flattering.  I love the wide waistband, the gathered bust, and the peekaboo opening in the back.  While it would look great with a cute cardigan over it, I'm happy I can show this dress off on its own for a few more months!

Fleur De Lis

This new (to me) Harley dress is an unexpected but welcomed change to my closet.  While the Harley dress has been a fan favorite, I've never been crazy about the neckline.  I tend to be insecure about my upper arms and this dress highlights that very same spot.  Because this fleur de lis print is so beautiful, I decided to give it a shot.  While it did showcase my upper arms, a cropped cardigan blanketed those insecurities and a cute outfit was born!

Lip Service

Although we're still experiencing 90-100 degree weather here, something about yesterday really felt like "fall".  It was windy, the leaves were falling and rustling through the grass, and this was all accompanied by a basic iced pumpkin spiced latte.  I may not have to dress the part yet, but something about this time of year has me feeling nostalgic.  I decided to take these pictures in a park that I used to play in as a kid.  I hadn't been here in years and it seemed so much bigger when I was a girl.  It's just as beautiful as I remember and I can't wait to bring Bianca here for some childhood memories of her own.

Monster Madness

I can't believe how much my skirt collection has grown in the past year.  I've been a dress only kind of girl for so long and I never thought I'd like anything more than just slipping one on and calling it an outfit.  I put a lot of style challenges on myself this year and I've found that I enjoy taking the time to create the outfit I want.  This monster print skirt has been on everyone's mind (and wish list) this summer and I can't wait to wear this out all year around!

Kitty Faces

Everyone is talking about how excited they are about fall, but here in California we are dealing with record breaking heat.  I guess the bright side of living in such a warm climate is being able to make the most of your summer wardrobe.  That means my shorts get to hang around a little longer and I get to pair them with the cutest tops!  I'm sure you already know, but the Ella top from Heart of Haute is such a wonderful separate to have in your closet.  I have more than a few, but this kitty face print is my favorite.  And when the weather gets a little cooler it looks great layered with a cardigan.  It's a top that can survive all the seasons!

When Decades Collide

Today is the first day this week where I feel somewhat normal.  I've been suffering from some terrible allergy symptoms which have caused my eyes to swell shut.  I was using antihistamines, but they were doing nothing except make me incredibly drowsy.  I went to the doctor yesterday and was given the correct medication which has helped so much!  I have never had allergy issues before, so I now understand the discomfort and miserable feelings that people have described.  I'm just happy that I can see properly again!

Mine This Time

Well, your eyes are not deceiving you.  I caved and went back to my purple hair.  As much as I wanted a change (and wanted to commit to my Halloween costume), I just couldn't help but miss my hair.  A lot.  Purple has always been my favorite color and I just feel like myself when it's on or around me.  I've played with pretty much every color in the rainbow and now I feel strongly about keeping my beloved hue around.  Keep your eyes peeled though, I have a couple of super fun silver haired posts that I've been waiting to release.  Some with special guest appearances as well...

Pigtails and Pirates

I'm not going to lie, this week has been a rough one in mommy land.  Bianca's been more than a handful and she's really testing the strength of my sanity.  But then we make our way out and do something fun and I get to capture moments like this.  I know Bianca spoils me, her terrible moods/actions are so few and far between.  I guess I'm not really accustomed to a "difficult" child so I feel completely overwhelmed when she acts anything but perfect.  Basically, I need to stop complaining and remind myself how thankful I am for my beautiful child.  Can I start over again?
