1959 Barbie

 

Hi Barbie! I'm so excited that Harvey's has teamed up with Barbie herself to create a beautiful collection honoring the iconic doll. If you aren't aware, Barbie's first appearance was in 1959 and she debuted her first outfit: the striped swimsuit. This tote bag pays homage to this outfit and every detail inside and out had Barbie in mind. I'm excited to show you more!

The Barbie tote features black and white striped seatbelts on both sides with Barbie on the front. The pink rosette in her hair is also made from seatbelts and adds a 3D touch. The charm is Barbie in her original suit and the zipper pull is her signature. The handles are Barbie pink and it also comes with a matching removable shoulder strap. Inside you'll find the Barbie pink lining with her signature and three open pockets and one zippered pocket. It's quite a large bag, you can fit everything you need and more in there!

This bag and the rest of the collection (which will be revealed daily on the Harvey's Instagram) will be available at their in-store Barbie event on March 8th. If you haven't been to any of their events, they are so much fun! Food, shopping, photo ops and so much more! If you're not local to Orange, California you can shop the collection online on Monday, March 10th at 8am PST.

Two Hearts

 

Happy Valentine's Day! Normally I'd have tons of Valentine's/Valloween content by now but I'm just starting to get back into the groove of going out and taking photos again. It's been cold, dreary and rainy (which I *love*) so I haven't had many opportunities to go outside but this dress deserved its own post. I've had this dress for years but never actually worn it out... that needed to change immediately!

This Sister Jane dress has everything I love: puffy sleeves, a fun print and gorgeous details. I'm not a fan of molded cups (mostly because I never fit into them) but this dress is an exception. I almost always wear a size medium in Sister Jane and this dress is a great fit. If I had to change anything, I would add pockets and extend their size range. Let's get some actual plus sizes please!

I hope your Valentine's Day is filled with love, whether you're in a romantic relationship or not. Kevin and I love to make this day special for Bianca so she knows that this holiday is more about love than romance. We will most likely be going out for burgers (veggie and otherwise) and enjoying a rainy night in on the couch!

Afterlife

 

Well, it's been a minute. January felt like it was about 18 months long and after dealing with potential evacuations from multiple fires and the state of our country in general, I wasn't feeling too much like getting cute and going out. After spending much of that time from home, I realized that I needed to continue to do things that bring me joy. Even if it only helps for a minute, I think any joy you can find right now is the right thing.

We've been begging for rain to help with the fires and we've been blessed! I figured a rainy day was the perfect time to wear my Afterlife Advertisement hoodie dress from Vixen by Micheline Pitt. I love that they teamed up with Beetlejuice again to offer a collection that honors the newest movie: Beeltlejuice Beetlejuice. As a huge Beetlejuice fan and someone who lives in sweats when I'm not in dresses, I love that this combines a little bit of everything. It's comfy, it's cute and it has the greatest print!

The Afterlife Advertisement hoodie dress is made from a thick sweatshirt material but offers an elevated twist on a classic piece. There is an elasticized waistline for a sleeker silhouette and it has a cute skater length skirt with deep side pockets. It also has hoodie so you can wear it in the rain (like I was here). The print is full of easter eggs from the movie and I feel like I discover a new one every time I put it on. I'm wearing my usual size small and it's a great fit! If you're looking for something slouchier you could totally size up and get the fit you want.
