Media Darling

We are right in the middle of summer and I am feeling it!  Trying to stay cool and cute can feel like  difficult task, but when you're dressed in Smak Parlour you don't even need to think about it!  I couldn't wait to try this Media Darling dress and it's everything I could have wanted and more.  Read more about this dress and the shop it came from in my review!

The Media Darling dress is made from a light and fully lined poly crepe fabric and features a sweetheart neckline, drawstring in the middle of the bodice, ruffled short sleeves, a breezy skirt with pockets, and a back zippered closure.  I actually gasped when I put this on, I loved it so much!  I took a medium, which is a size above my normal size.  I definitely could have taken my usual small but the medium gave me that babydoll dress look and I am all about it.  The drawstring on the bodice allows you to cinch it as much as you want and I love the silhouette it creates.  The Media Darling is my new favorite Smak Parlour dress and I hope we see more prints and colors in the future!

Art Deco

This brooch is absolutely my favorite of the collection.  It's so art deco!  It really matches with everything and the marbled resin is so gorgeous in person.  I have a feeling this one is going to get a lot of use!

Burst of Sun Brooch

Again, this is another super vibrant and versatile brooch.  This brooch features actual mirrored pieces mounted on the glittery sunburst.  It's seriously everything, I love it so much!

Autumnal Symphony Greyhound Brooch

At the surprise of nobody, I had to have the dog brooch in the collection!  This greyhound is the perfect size and I love the visual interest this brooch creates, thanks to the textured resin they used.  It's definitely art deco but it can be worn really with anything.

Sci Fi Rockets

I'm super excited about this post for two reasons: I'm wearing my absolute favorite dress and my BFF Sammi from The Soubrette Brunette is wearing it with me!  Okay, well not literally, but we arranged this post to show you how we styled our very special dresses.  And to nobody's surprise, we styled it almost exactly the same.  I started laughing when I saw her pictures!  As Sammi says, even when we're thousands of miles apart we are still on the same wavelength.

The Annette dress from Trashy Diva is one of my favorite styles.  It's super easy to wear, it's figure flattering and it has pockets!  This particular print, Sci Fi Rockets, is from 2012 and is quite elusive.  I had been searching for this dress for years before I found one in my size a few years ago.  The fabric is a stretch cotton and it's seriously so perfect for summer.  I haven't picked out my 4th of July outfit yet but I have a feeling this dress is going to make another appearance this week for the big celebration.  You can check out how Sammi styled hers below!  She also blogged about her outfit in depth, which you can read about right HERE.





I'm hoping we get to do some more BFF style posts in the near future.  Now that I've gotten into a groove in my work schedule, I feel like I'm better equipped to plan these things with Sammi.  But let's be real, I'm more hopeful that we'll get to take outfit photos together again soon.  It's been way too long since we've spent some time together and I need another girl's trip!
