Happy Halloween!

Pinup Couture Lolita Top in Black Velvet Laura Byrnes California Little Jun Skirt in Orange with Black Spider Web

The big day is finally here!  To be honest, I've been so overwhelmed with life changes this past week that I was unsure if I'd be able to enjoy Halloween.  Thankfully, the craziness has died down and will stay that way until about Wednesday.  Then it's off to prep for the move!  But you best believe that I'll be enjoying the day with my Princess Tiana and my, I mean her, candy.

If you don't own a Little Jun skirt yet my first question would be why?  It's just the perfect addition to any wardrobe.  The wide waistband is figure flattering and the elastic panels on the back allow a tailor-made fit.  The box pleats create a beautiful silhouette and the massive pockets are a huge plus.  It's also a welcomed change from the classic Jenny skirt.  It's not nearly as much fabric and has a shorter length.  So for those who aren't super into the pinup wardrobe: this skirt is for you too!  I had to wear the orange with black spiderweb print for holiday today, but this skirt comes in a plethora of colors and prints.  I would know: I think I might have them all!

I hope you enjoy Halloween in a fun but safe manner!  I'll be accompanying Bianca on her trick-or-treat adventures with some of her friends.  I can guarantee there will be lots of pictures posted on my Instagram.  What are your plans today?  Let me know in the comments below!

Lantern

Pinup Girl Clothing Pinup Couture Jenny Dress in Lantern Print Heart of Haute Sweet Sweater in Black

When the sky is gloomy I love to come to this local park.  It's the perfect place to take some outfit pictures but it's also equipped with a play area for Bianca.  Going anywhere with an almost three year old is difficult, so having some kind of entertainment while I get some "me time" in is essential.  There was also this amazing haunted house across the street but I felt uncomfortable creeping on somebody's lawn without them knowing.  I'm pretty sure that's only acceptable on Halloween!

Like I've mentioned in earlier posts, Stephanie Buscema's Lantern print has been my favorite of the many Halloween prints from Pinup Girl Clothing.  I love the vintage Halloween aesthetic, the bold colors, and the adorable cats!  While I'm showcasing the Jenny dress today, I've also purchased the Peasant top and Harley Wiggle dress in this print as well.  That's when you know you really love something!  While the reviews have been mixed, this dress runs very true to size in my opinion.  I sized up initially but I was swimming in it!  Thankfully, I was able to nab this dress in my actual size with time to wear it before Halloween.  As for the matching belt, you can only find it on the Harley Wiggle dress.  I prefer it on the Jenny but I'm glad I have the option of wearing it on either dress.

I topped my look off with Stephanie's matching pins and my favorite sweater on the planet: the Heart of Haute Sweet sweater.  While most people like to tie it in a bow on the front, my friend Julia had the genius idea of tying the sweater in the back.  I love it so much more this way!  It makes me feel like a ballerina.  And let's be honest...  I want to be a ballerina everyday!

It's one more week until the big move!  I haven't done as much packing as I'd hoped, but this week has been one of the busiest in a long time.  It's funny how I'm only busy when there are big life changes on the horizon.  I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed, but I'm hoping Kevin can get a lot of the packing done while I'm at work this weekend.  Here's to hoping we get everything done before the big day!

Show Your Bones

Unique Vintage 1950s Style Black Three-Quarter Sleeve Graves Swing Dress

This deliciously festive Unique Vintage Graves dress has had so much wear this season!  In addition to the great price point, the super soft stretch cotton and figure flattering silhouette makes this piece functional (unlike a real Halloween costume). Produced in sizes XS-4X, this dress can accommodate and highlight the beauty in every body type.  Long story short: you definitely need one.

I'm usually eager to explore new photo locations but I've been trying to enjoy these last few days in our backyard.  We have a little over a week left in this well-loved home and our new home doesn't have any landscaping in the back... Yet.  When we first moved in three and a half years ago, there was nothing but a few mature trees here.  We put in a lot of hard work to make this place ours.  It's really sad to see this place go, but I'm also looking forward to making new memories and staring new again.  Please tell me I'm not the only person who's insanely sentimental?!  I feel like I might be a little crazy...

Pumpkin Queen

Bernie Dexter Coco Turtle Neck Top in Black and White Pinup Girl Clothing Pinup Couture Jenny Skirt in Pumpkin Border Print

Halloween is just around the corner and I have so many outfits I haven't featured here yet!  Unfortunately, I can't get out for pictures everyday so I've narrowed them down as much as I can.  Like I've mentioned before, Pinup Girl Clothing's collection this year has been downright dreamy.  Stephanie Buscema and her lovely prints have highlighted this collection and I've tried to convince myself not to wear them every single day.  So far it hasn't really worked...

I have over thirty Jenny skirts (I prefer the word collector over hoarder) and I almost always fit into an XS.  These Halloween skirts seem to run a bit larger than my liking, but I'd still consider them wearable.  If you're between sizes I'd highly recommend sizing down.  The fabric of this Jenny is stiff but comfortable, definitely looks great with or without a petticoat.  As always, it's finished with massive side pockets (which are currently carrying my phone, keys, and a snack for Bianca).  I paired it with my favorite striped top from Bernie Dexter.  I almost exclusively purchase dresses from her but her knit separates are amazing!  If you have yet to give them a try, go for it.  You won't have any regrets!

Pinup Parade in the Park is on Sunday and I seriously cannot wait!  I've had a few snags with my Disneybound but it's all come together.  I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's outfits, playing some Disney trivia, and exploring the park with my fellow ladies.  If you're planning on coming let me know in the comments below!

Fall For You

Bernie Dexter Lauren Dress in Fall For You print

Finally, we've had one weekend where it actually felt like fall!  I couldn't wait to put on this Bernie Dexter dress for the occasion, it's simply perfect for the transition of seasons.  She's released a new cut called the Lauren and it's probably the most comfortable piece in my closet.  Read all about the fit and features of this new style below!

The Lauren is much like the famed Kelly dress with the zip front detail.  If you've never owned a dress with zip (instead of the dreadful button front) you just haven't lived!  The zipper is long enough that you can step into this dress with ease.  The sleeves are a little longer than the Kelly and the collar is much wider.  The Lauren also features a fabric tie waist (which isn't removable).  While I can jump between an XS and a S in the Kelly, the Lauren runs much larger.  I only take an XS in the Lauren, and it's even a bit roomy in the waist.  As always, Bernie's dresses are made here in the USA with 100% cotton.  While I find all of her dresses to be incredibly comfortable, the fact that I can wear a regular bra in this cut definitely makes this one my favorite.  The Lauren also comes in four other fun prints, so you can find one for every occasion!

What's On My Radar: Current Loves

Halloween is just around the corner, which means there are tons of goodies for the taking!  My spooky wardrobe gets play all year around, so I'm like a kid in a weird online candy store when fall approaches.  Here are just a few of the things I've been eyeing this month:

Stephanie Buscema
  1. Halloween Lanterns Zippered Pouch
  2. Masked Jack Mini Makeup Mirror
  3. Mallory Bones Giclée Print
  4. Anita Web Giclée Print
  5. Halloween Party Enamel Pin Set
  6. Black Cat Lantern Mini Makeup Mirror
Need some accessories to match your Pinup Girl Clothing Lantern Print pieces?  How about spooky/adorable artwork for your home?  Stephanie has you covered!  I'm obsessed with her lantern print but she has tons of cute prints to choose from.  I've been dying to get some of her art for my new dressing room (I actually have Anita Web as my phone's screensaver) and I think that day is today!

Pinup Girl Clothing Halloween
  1. Peasant Top in Lantern Print
  2. Zooey Dress in Pumpkin Border Print
  3. Jenny Dress in Lantern Print
  4. Petite Jenny Skirt in Pumpkin Border Print
  5. High-Waisted Pencil Skirt in Lantern Print
Pinup Girl Clothing's Halloween collection is on fire this year!  Unfortunately, some of these beauties sold out faster than I could post them.  I had to include them anyway, plus there might be an exchange/return in your size.  Make sure to sign up for the wait list if you're interested!  These are a couple of Stephanie's prints, but PUG also has a Victorian Stripe, Spiderweb (in two color ways), and a Halloween Harlequin.

Clairey Lou Creations
Clairey Lou Creations
  1. Halloween Ghost Plush
  2. Monster Pin
  3. Candy Corn Enamel Pin
  4. Jack O Lantern Pin
  5. Pumpkin Pie Pin
I absolutely love handmade accessories and these just happen to be the cutest!  Clairey Lou Creations has everything from creepy to kawaii, and you can't argue with her prices!  The pumpkin pie pin is so mine...

1138 Clothing
  1. Happy Pumpkin Circle Skirt
  2. Friendly Monsters Circle Skirt
  3. Spooky Filigree Circle Skirt
  4. Movie Monsters Circle Skirt
My girl Linda is amazing!  Owner of 1138 Clothing, she not only stocks adorable spooky skirts, but everything for the "nerdy" girl at heart.  She also takes custom orders so if you don't see something you need, she can surely make it happen.

Wood Printz
  1. Frankenstein Wooden Movie Poster
  2. Nosferatu Wooden Movie Poster
  3. Dracula's Daughter Wooden Movie Poster
  4. Dr. Caligar Wooden Movie Poster
  5. Alfred Hitchcock Wooden Movie Poster
  6. Mummy Wooden Movie Poster
  7. Tarantula Wooden Movie Poster
  8. Night of the Living Dead Wooden Movie Poster
New house = new decor.  I love these vintage movie posters printed on wood!  It gives it a rustic look and it feels a lot more "adult" than hanging posters on your wall.  Wood Printz will also discount on multiple items, so it's best to get a few of them, right?

What's on your list this month?  Let me know in the comments below!

Hansel & Gretel

Pinup Girl Clothing Pinup Couture Jenny Skirt in Hansel & Gretel Print Laura Byrnes California Victoria Top in Black

When you find a skirt that's both spooky and pink, you have to buy it right away!  I'm glad I did, this Hansel & Gretel skirt from Pinup Girl Clothing sold out in a hot minute!  Stephanie Buscema's artwork is no stranger to their clothing, but her prints this season have been right up my alley.  I've worn this skirt twice since I've purchased it and I literally cannot count the compliments I've received.  It's an actual conversation piece!

The Jenny skirt is my favorite cut (although the Little Jun is right behind her!) and the sizing of this skirt is spot on.  I ordered my usual size and it was the perfect fit.  There are tons of fun colors in this skirt to play with, but I decided to stick with my black Victoria top and black flats to complete my outfit.  Of course, I couldn't miss the opportunity to wear my Christmas Cookie brooch.  I never really match my brooch to the theme of my outfit, but this was too good to pass up!

Hepburn

Unique Vintage The Pretty Dress Company Vintage Style Black Seville Floral Half Sleeve Hepburn Swing Dress

I had the opportunity to visit this beautiful but abandoned campsite the other day.  There are tons of places I'd love to explore near my home, but I'm really hesitant to do that alone or with Bianca.  I had a day off with Kevin this weekend so we made a family trip to check it out.  It's surrounded by beautiful foliage, bridges, and walking paths that looked like they were once carefully tended to.  I felt like I needed to match the background with this gorgeous dress from Unique Vintage and you can read all about it below!

I can't even explain how much I love this dress.  When this package came to my doorstep I literally ripped it open!  Exclusive to Unique Vintage, this Hepburn dress from The Pretty Dress Company is the perfect fall frock.  Made from a sturdy but soft cotton, this dress features a full back zip (you can step into it!), wide waistband, and a full pleated skirt.  I initially tried this dress with a petticoat but I felt like the skirt was full enough on its own.  It's a great dress for a date night or even a wedding, but can easily be dressed down with a leather jacket and flats.  Basically, I'm in love with it. Can you blame me?

Well, our move in date is getting closer and closer!  We're starting to pack this week and I can't wait to get everything organized for the big day.  I have a feeling I'm not even going to pack my closet until the day of.  And when I say pack I mean keep everything on hangers, pile them in my trunk, drive them to my new home, and put them in my new closet.  I wonder how many trips that will actually take...
