At this moment I feel like a million bucks! I have a great new redesigned blog by the lovely Allison from Shy Scout, my online store is up and running, and my home and work life is the best it's ever been. I just feel like such a lucky girl. It's very rare when you feel like you have absolutely nothing to complain about :)
I don't know what it is about my Betsey Johnson pieces that makes me want to keep them in the closet and preserve them. I feel weird wearing anything I own because I know I can't replace it. I actually feel like part of my closet is a museum of beautifully made tops and dresses. Today I had the impulse to wear this mint colored Betsey top. I love the sleeves because they're so detailed and delicate. It's also really light so it's perfect for the summertime.
I'm excited to announce that you can now shop my closet over at Storenvy! I've been wanting to do this for awhile so I'm happy that my store is officially open. Most of these items have only been worn a few times and are in perfect condition. I just need to make room in my closet (aka I feel bad for my boyfriend).

I didn't realize until I started writing this post that everything I'm wearing is currently on sale. I in no way planned this, but again, I feel a sense of pride when I can look nice without breaking the bank. You may not know it but Christmas will be here in no time!
I'm not going to lie, this is the first time I've worn pants in awhile.
A long while. This heat wave here in Los Angeles is still in full
effect which means my dresses have been in heavy rotation. Don't get me
wrong, I love wearing dresses than pretty much more than anything. I
just need a break from time to time (as does my legs from the daily
shaving)!
This past weekend was quite beautiful and filled with... well... nothing. Don't get me wrong, it was amazing! Between my boyfriend and I, most of our weekends are jam packed with family events, birthday parties, or work events. While we try to get some down time in together, it hardly ever happens. I can actually say I'm well rested and completely ready for another hard week.
Yesterday was kind of crazy so I'm very excited that it is officially
the weekend! I'm determined to do something out of my comfort zone. My
fellow blogger Sharon made a list of summer to-dos which inspired me to do the same.
Many of you may not know it, but I really love cooking. I love putting in the time and effort into a meal, especially when someone else is there to enjoy it! This summer I've been all about salads. It's a great start to a meal and an even better way to get your veggie servings in. One thing I NEVER use: store bought salad dressing. Not only do I find the taste gross, making your own is actually pretty easy. So here is my absolute favorite salad dressing recipe.
I have no idea why, but I've been completely accident prone lately. It
all started last weekend when I accidentally cut my hand while chopping
an avocado. Two days later I proceeded to cut my pinky on my other hand with a
surgical instrument. And yesterday I managed to get a
paper cut in the same healing area as my original knife cut. I think I
need to stay away from anything sharp for awhile...
This weekend was filled with movies, yummy dinners, birthday parties, and 100+ degree weather! I've been doing my best to stay out of the sun (can you tell?) and in an air conditioned environment at all times. While I love a warm day, this heat is a little excessive and has me longing for days where I can wear sweaters and tights with my dresses.
I know it's been awhile since I've posted anything music related, I really have no idea why. I guess I'll start by posting a favorite song by one of my favorite artists. Incubus, while mainstream, still feels like a small town band from southern California to me. I had the opportunity to see them live earlier this year and they really blew me away. The music was amazing and Brandon Boyd's voice was insane. He's also a total babe :)
I love how every album is different from the last. They tend to reinvent themselves constantly which always makes me wonder what direction they'll go next. Their latest album, while not my favorite, totally grew on me over time. I love the lyrics of these songs and the hypnotic style each song has kind of melts the whole album together... If that makes any sense!
I wish I had the chance to see this song live because the vocals are absolutely fantastic! They will be back in LA in a few weeks with Linkin Park but I don't think I can go. Although my brother and his girlfriend will be there and I hope they enjoy Incubus live as much as I do.
Like most of you girls, I carry a big bag pretty much everywhere I go. While I try to keep junk to a minimum, I consider everything in my purse a necessity! So what are my must have go-to items?
Lately I've been trying to figure out how to change up my usual hair styles. It's either one of two ways: Down and curled or up in a bun. I decided to try a messy updo with milkmaid braids and I thought it was pretty cute :). It also held up overnight into work today which was a total surprise!
