Last Day

Today is my last day as a single woman.  Okay, so technically I haven't been single in almost three years, but you get the point.  I'm changing my name and becoming a wife tomorrow!  I really don't feel like much is going to change.  Kevin and I had built our life together a long time ago, I guess now it is just official... What's going to be the biggest change?  I think seeing him wearing a wedding ring.  The most "jewelry" he's ever worn is a watch so it's going to be quite a change.  A good one :).

Catching My Breath

These past few days have been kind of crazy!  I've been trying to get everything ready for our wedding on Friday.  It doesn't matter how prepared you think you are, it's really never enough.  I tend to be an "over-planner" so I think I drive myself a little nuts for no apparent reason.  The truth is, if I wasn't completely overwhelmed, I'd probably be a little worried!

Shrinking Universe

With all this crazy cold weather lately, I was pretty excited to see some sun.  It may be only 48 degrees out, but at least it was sunny!  I was lucky enough to remember my camera when Kevin and I went out to run some errands or else I wouldn't have these pictures at all.  I'm certainly not used to carrying it around but I'm trying to be a bit more adventurous with my photos.  Oh, and I also can't remember the last time I wore this much black.  Weird.

Seven Days

Okay, so I haven't really been updating you on my wedding lately.  For one, I know I'm probably the only one excited.  And two, wedding planning is terrible.  I wish I were one of those girls who dreamed about this day since I was five.  It's just not my thing.  So thankfully, Kevin and I decided to get married in Santa Barbara NEXT WEEK.  We only started making plans two weeks ago and honestly, it's been the most progress we've had in months.  It's going to be small, romantic, short, and sweet.  This is definitely something I could get on board with!

Sail Away

Here is another installment of my casual dressing series.  Okay, I'm not doing a series, but I'm trying to show you more of my casual side.  I don't actually have a casual side either but I've told myself I need to expand my narrow fashion niche.  I've always loved dressing with a nautical flair so it was very natural putting this outfit together.  I could actually be comfortable with this change of pace!

I don't know about you, but I can't go on Facebook more than a few days without finding out one of my friends is either engaged, married, expecting, or just had a baby.  My Facebook is totally guilty of the same thing!

It's really fun to see how everyone's life is changing.  Most of these people I've known since high school so it's crazy to think how grown up we all are now.  One friend in particular, also named Ashley, I've known since third grade.  She was one of the first friends I made when my mom decided to put me into public school, and we've been in touch ever since.

Ashley had this amazing idea of putting together gift baskets for either newly engaged or expecting friends.  She took a simple idea and really made it fabulous!  She showed me her website, Bliss N Bundles, and I fell in love.  I instantly wanted to send one to her, but I guess it wouldn't be much of a surprise!

Lady Luck

Little known fact: I'm obsessed with tomatoes.  It's weird because I know so many people who are repulsed by them.  But they hold a special place in my heart.  I usually eat one whole (with a little salt) as an after work snack.  So I guess when I saw this tomato print skirt I knew why I wanted to own it.  I love the bright colors and the higher waistline.  I'm gravitating towards the high waistline lately.  Plus, looking at this skirt kind of makes me hungry!

Sweet Thing

I know it sounds kind of lame, but I'm proud to show you another remix from my closet.  Since I've decided to stop being obsessed with showcasing my entire closet before showing repeats, I've had so much fun putting outfits together.  Although the last time I wore this top I paired it with different red skirt.  I guess I just love the blue/red combo :).

Learning Curve

Just last week I promised Kevin I wouldn't buy anymore clothes.  I already made that promise to myself, but having another person aware of my plans makes me feel that much more accountable.  Since we are saving for our first home and our one day baby, I think I can take a little break and focus on the amazing wardrobe that's already in my closet.  Which brings me to this yellow Modcloth dress.  Yet another birthday gift from a friend.  I love wearing it in colder weather and it's really easy to take this piece into all seasons.  At this point I need a closet that can translate through all kinds of weather!

Love Story

Is it a coincidence that I've posted two dog printed items in a row?  Absolutely not.  This dress was a gift from my brother and his fiance (oh my gosh, I've been wanting to announce that for SO LONG) for Christmas.  I actually screamed when I opened the box.  I've been eying this dress on Modcloth for months so I was pretty excited to finally hang it in my closet.  It's a dream and it fits perfectly.  Probably my favorite gift this year!

Dress It Down

If you've ever wondered how casual my outfits can get, this is it.  I don't know why I always feel the need to wear dresses and avoid boots like the plague, but it's just what I feel comfortable in.  Since I've bought these boots I've only worn them out a select few times.  I guess I'm trying to be more comfortable with dressing comfortable :)

Like You Mean It

There are days like these where I wonder how people wear dresses in extreme cold.  Today is probably one of the coldest days all winter (I can see my breath, that is pretty darn cold to me) and I had a hard time taking pictures.  I was trying to look happy but all I could think about was going back inside and enjoying some gingerbread coffee!

Pretty Penny

When Penny emailed me with a link to her Etsy store, it didn't take much for me to fall in love with her designs.  Fit and flare plus girly fabrics equals pretty much every dress in my closet.  And as a lovely surprise, I received this dress on Christmas Eve.  I don't think she knew purple was my favorite color but she did capture my style perfectly!  How amazing is this dress?
