The Gift dress is made from a sturdy, crisp cotton sateen and features a high keyhole neckline with a bow, sleeveless fitted bodice, gathered swing skirt with deep pockets, back zippered closure with a button at the top, and a removable matching grommet belt.  I'm wearing my usual size XS in Sarsparilly and the fit is great!  If you're not a regular customer, I would mention that sizing tends to be a whole size larger that your usual.  For example, I'm a pretty straight size small in most clothing lines but I'm an XS in Sarsparilly.  The bodice is quite short so I wasn't able to wear the belt on the loops but I have a long torso so that's a pretty common issue for me.  I wore this dress out while running errands the other day and I received so many compliments!  It's truly a statement piece.

I'm gearing up for a hot weekend, which means wearing all the comfy dresses!  If you've been reading this blog for some time, you know that I have a serious love for Sister Jane.  Their silhouettes are romantic, the details are intricate, and the fabrics are always top notch.  My only issue was that they didn't offer extended sizing.  Thanks to some progress on their part, they have extended their sizing on their new collections!  This dress is one of many offered in their new size range and I can't express how much I love wearing this absolute showstopper.

The Angelica dress is made from a jacquard fabric with a springy print and features puff sleeves, bust cups, a black bow detail at the bust and an ankle length skirt with a front slit and a peplum hem.  I'm wearing my usual dress size, which is a medium, and it fits great.  As someone with a large bust, I wish the cups were fuller but I also understand that not everyone has the same issues as I do.  Sister Jane ships from the UK but I tend to shop their collections on Ivory Sheep, which is an amazing small Canadian business.  They carry many of my favorite brands and their customer service can't be beat!

Amanita Muscaria

 

I've been living in all the cotton dresses lately!  Whether I'm working or on the go, I prefer to be comfortable while maintaining my style.  Since the sun is out longer (and let's be real, it's much hotter too) I've finally been able to pull out my vast selection of sun hats.  I love every single piece The Beheaded puts out and this Amanita Muscaria hat is perfect for spring!  Cute, spooky and keeps the sun away... It's the perfect witchy accessory!

Handmade and totally unique, this hat is made from recycled paper and features a wired brim to keep its shape.  The hat is hand painted and is finished with an attached red ribbon.  If red isn't your color, you can also snag one in brown HERE!

Easter is this weekend and we have absolutely nothing planned.  We've been so busy with work that we nearly forgot about it all together!  I haven't decided if I'm going to cook or not, especially since Bianca is a vegetarian, but there's one thing I absolutely cannot forget... The Easter Bunny must show up and bring Bianca lots of treats!  Fingers crossed I can get something memorable together in time!

When fashion merges with Art Nouveau I can't help but become utterly obsessed!  Alphonse Mucha has created some of the most famous Art Nouveau paintings and I'm just so excited that his work is portrayed on this Selkie dress.  This particular puff dress is in cotton, which is just so much more comfortable and wearable than their classic organza silhouettes.  It's fancy enough for an event but can easily be worn as an everyday outfit.

The cottage puff is a cotton puff dress with two layers of organza underneath the skirt to give it the perfect amount of volume.  It's otherwise the same as any other Selkie puff dress but I'm pretty sure the cotton puff is the most flattering *and* comfortable to wear.  I'm wearing a size small, which is a size smaller than my organza puff size.  I always size down for cotton because there is more give in the bust area.  I love the fit of this dress but I feel like I need all the things in this print!

The Mucha print is a part of their 2022 spring collection but has yet to be released on the Selkie site.  I got this dress on Free People but it sold out pretty fast!  You can expect this dress to drop on the Selkie website later this month though, so keep those eyes peeled!
