Return to Oz

Kitschy Witch Designs Return to Oz Circle Skirt

Today is the big day!  Kitschy Witch Designs by Stephanie Buscema is releasing her much anticipated Return to Oz collection today at 12pm PST!  Not only did Stephanie illustrate this amazing print, she also created pins and some really special matching jewelry with Luxulite.  I'm so honored to debut this brand new style in the Return to Oz print: the circle skirt!  This longer length, super full skirt is an absolute dream.  For reals, I think it's my new favorite piece!  You can find a detailed fit review on this new piece below.

The circle skirt features a wide two inch waistband, light gathers on the front that create beautiful pleats, huge hidden side pockets, and a side zippered closure with two hook and eye closures on the band.  I'm wearing a small in the circle skirt.  I typically wear an XS in her Spellbound skirt, but because this skirt has a wider waistband and is meant to sit higher on the waist, I chose a small instead.  I'm happy with my decision and I like that I can move the hook and eye closures if I want it to be a bit more snug.  I feel like the XS would have been too snug and the waistband would begin to fold over when worn (which is a major pet peeve of mine, fit is always more important than the size in your garment!).  I can't believe how big the sweep of this skirt is, it's truly worth every single cent.  The cotton sateen has a bit of stretch and is so comfortable to wear.  The circle skirt is priced at $100 and will be available in sizes XS-3X.

If you're not a skirt person, the Return to Oz print will also come in a scarf and a Rosaleen dress.  If you'd like to read my review on the Rosaleen, click HERE!  The Haunted House and Return to Oz dresses are running exactly the same, in case you're curious.  Make sure to set your alarm and shop the Return to Oz collection when it launches at 12pm PST, I have a feeling these gorgeous goodies are going to sell out!

Harlow

Vintage Vandalizm Harlow Set in Blush

Beating that end-of-summer heat in this Harlow set from Vintage Vandalizm.  If you're not familiar with Vintage Vandalizm, you're probably well aware of the owner/designer, Jasmin Rodriguez.  Jasmin has been a long-time inspiration of mine (I've been following her blog before I even had one of my own) and over time has become a lovely friend.  She has been showcasing her amazing style for well over a decade and now she's offering her own line of gorgeous clothing!  I love how Jasmin has her own take on vintage style.  She doesn't box herself into a corner and often shows her love for all kinds of fashion through her personal style.  I'm super excited to talk about her Harlow set and let you know what I think!

The Harlow set is made of a light and comfortable satin fabric, which is perfect for the summer.  The top has the most romantic flowing sleeves with complete with pearl buttons on the cuffs.  There are shoulder pads but you could easily have them removed if a structured shoulder isn't your thing.  This is a traditional tie top, so you can tie it to your liking.  The pants are super wide leg with an elasticized back waistband for comfort and an invisible back zippered closure.

I took a size small in the Harlow and it was a perfect fit.  Thanks to the tie top and elasticized waistband in the pants, I didn't have much worries about this set fitting me correctly.  I have a very long torso, so there might be a little more skin showing in the midsection but that's definitely because of my frame.  I love the high rise of the pants, they truly are perfect!  While I wore both pieces together this time, I look forward to mixing and matching this set in the future.

The Harlow set is available in sizes S-XL, but will be expanding to plus sizes next season!  Consider shopping with and supporting Vintage Vandalizm, a small business owned by the sweetest woman of color.  You won't regret it!

Scream Queen

uv_halloween

Can you feel the spooky season yet?  I don't know if you can tell but I'm all in over here!  The house is decorated (much to my husband's dismay) and all my spooky outfits are out.  I can never have too many Halloween/vintage inspired ensembles and Unique Vintage really brought out their best collection this year.  This pinafore is one of my favorite new pieces and it's already been worn a bunch of times... in August!  Be prepared to see this cutie a bunch this season.

The Miss Muffet Pinafore Dress is made by Hell Bunny and I was really impressed with the quality of the garment.  It's a thick stretch cotton and has spiderweb and bat embroidery throughout.  It has a bib and side pockets, adjustable straps, and a super full and flirty above the knee skirt.  While I'm typically a small in most brands, I'm a solid XS in Hell Bunny.  The fit of the XS is perfect and now I want them to make more fun pinafore dresses, my closet needs them!

I paired the pinafore with the Gracie Top, which is made by Unique Vintage.  This top is everything.  It looks like a classic top but it's soft, stretchy, and has a cute little button keyhole at the cuffs.  I love the black and orange stripe and I'm hoping they make solids in this top in the future.  I'm pretty sure it would be part of my core wardrobe!

You can find this spooky outfit and so much more at Unique Vintage's Halloween Shop.  They have a huge selection clothing and accessories, I seriously want everything!  Have you been shopping for Halloween goodies already?  Let me know in the comments below!

What's Your Favorite?

I know I say it all the time but I can't contain my excitement for the new Erstwilder launch!  They've asked their fans which designs we wanted to see make a return and now the newest installment of Fan Favourites is here!  This collection features fourteen brooches, three pairs of earrings, and three necklaces.  Check out my favorites from the range below:

I have the original color way of Slippin' Under so I was pretty excited when they offered this new green version.  I love the marbled resin and the chunky glitter in the middle of the jellyfish.  He's just so bright and beautiful!  If you love this brooch design as much as I do, it also comes in earrings and a necklace.  Talk about matchy matchy!

This brooch is so big and so perfect!  I love this newer version, which comes complete with a sparkly anchor.  The newer version is similar in color but still looks totally different, which I love.  It really is the ideal nautical inspired brooch.

erstwilder babette bee brooch

I have always wanted a Babette Bee brooch and I was so excited when they brought her back!  Babette is now better than ever, with a cute little resin butt (instead of it being painted on).  She's super cute, sparkly, and ready to give my outfits some added buzz!

Around the World is another design I've wanted for a really long time.  This version is both sparkly and glittery: who could ask for more?  If you love this design, it also comes in matching earrings and a necklace.  I'm more of a brooch gal but I love that there are so many options for these designs!

You can find the entire Fan Favorites collection online HERE.  Make sure to grab what you want while you can, these designs are going to sell out quick!  Which are your favorites?  Let me know in the comments!

Empower Hour

Smak Parlour Empower Hour Dress in Mustard and Black Gingham

I know it's only August but I am all about fall right now!  I'm getting my cooler weather wardrobe ready and slowly sneaking in spooky goodies for what I consider the most wonderful time of the year.  This lovely dress from Smak Parlour in Philadelphia (they have an online store too) is the perfect summer to fall transitional piece.  It's easy to wear and super functional, but will be really easy to layer up for those cooler months.  Read more about the Empower Hour dress below!

Lipstick- c/o Maybelline Superstay Ink Crayon in Stay Exceptional

The Empower Hour dress is made from a thick stretch ponte fabric and has attached cotton sleeves and neckline detail.  I love how this dress is made to look like you've layered a top underneath.  It possesses all the cuteness of layering but with the comfort of just throwing on a dress!  It has bust darts, an a-line skirt with large hidden side pockets, and a back zippered closure.  I ordered up from my usual small to a medium in this dress and I feel like I should have stuck with a small.  Because of the stretchy fabric, the bust and waist has a lot of give.  I decided to throw on a belt and rock it anyway, it was too cute not to!  You can find this dress and many other cute outfits at Smak Parlour right now.  Support their small business and get a great deal on something super fashion forward!

I don't know if you can tell, but I sneakily added in one of my favorite new spooky purses: the Book of Spells bag.  Halloween is right around the corner and I am so ready for it!  Expect lots of spooky posts from now until Halloween, I have a ton of great outfits and companies to share with you.  If you need your Halloween fix right now, make sure to follow me on Instagram.  I'm already sharing creepy goodies there and you'll get a first look at what small businesses I am supporting this year!
