Bring on the heat!  I'm all about dressing for the warm weather.  I have about 100 cardigans but I get pretty excited when they're no longer needed.  This dress is the perfect introduction to my summer style.  Fun, bold colors and flattering necklines.  Be prepared to see a pair of shorts or two (who am I?) and some vintage inspired playsuits.  I can't wait to wear them all!

Makeup Review: Anastasia Liquid Lipsticks

It's been quite some time since I've done a makeup review.  Since I'm no expert, I only like to post about things that I love and use on a regular basis.  I've been fortunate enough to acquire the complete line of Anastasia's Liquid Lipsticks and I'm excited to talk about them today!

Spanish Fans

I'm hoping everyone had a fabulous long weekend!  While I had to work a few days, I was able to have a date night with Kevin and a full day of family fun yesterday.  The weather is finally starting to warm up a bit so we enjoyed some time outside.  Bianca is a little explorer so I burned off some calories running after her!  Much like her momma, she's an independent soul and doesn't like being told what to do.  I can already tell I'll have my work cut out for me when she's a teenager...

At Home: My Dress Closet/Guest Bedroom

I promised to update you on the transformation of my dressing room/guest bedroom this week and here it is!  While it's still a work in progress, I'm much happier now than I was just a week ago.  Kevin and I have very different design styles, so I couldn't wait to have free reign over this room.  I wanted something bright, colorful, and calming to the eye.  Check out the progress below!

Geronimo

I have a love/hate relationship when it comes to wearing my vintage pieces.  I love that it could possibly be one of a kind and has a story behind it.  I also hate feeling like I have to be extra careful when wearing it.  My love almost always overcomes the hate and I wear it out regardless.  This dress is so beautiful it almost makes me want to cry.  The pastel color and the tiny feminine details really embody my style.  Therefore, it deserves to be worn on the regular.  I may not take it to the playground with Bianca, but it doesn't hang in my closet and collect dust.  It's all about happy mediums!

Full Bloom

I have yet to fully recover from the weekend.  I spent those days vending at RuPaul's DragCon and I'm exhausted!  I had such a wonderful time and met so many awesome people, but being "on" the entire time can really drain a person.  Luckily, yesterday was my day to rest and I spent it well.  In case you were wondering, that meant I didn't leave the couch and caught up on Mad Men.  I can't believe it's over!  I may have cried just a couple of times...

All Aboard

Oh that southern California wind.  It really likes to mess with my outfit photos at times!  Normally it doesn't bother me that much, but my poor hat kept flying off.  Some days just aren't meant for hats but I was determined to make it work.  I actually found this location by accident last weekend and I really love it.  I'm a sucker for a nice view and I can't wait to take Bianca here for a walk.  I've learned she needs to burn a lot of energy these days, so finding new and interesting activities is a top priority at the moment.

Geometric Squares

Although it's only been five days, it feels like I haven't posted in forever.  I took an unexpected blog hiatus while enjoyed some time with my family this past weekend.  While I can start to feel a bit of pressure if it's been longer than usual, I'm more than happy to spend a few days away from the computer.  I worked one day, spent time with my mother in law, and had my sister stay with me all weekend.  Overall, it was everything I could've asked for!

Mother and Child

I don't usually post "casual" looks on here because I really don't go anywhere without feeling dressed up.  For me, putting on a beautiful outfit is absolutely part of my everyday routine.  It makes me feel, well, like me.  If I have to tone it down a bit I'll wear flats or skip the petticoat.  This particular day was quite gloomy so I wore a buttoned up cardigan as a top.  When you wear a skirt this pretty you don't want anything covering it up!

Crystal Castle

Mother's Day isn't until Sunday but I couldn't resist an opportunity to take some mother/daughter pictures with Bianca.  We haven't taken pictures together since the holidays and so much has changed since then.  The most obvious is her ability to take off!  She wasn't as interested in posing as she was in her surroundings, which means she ran from about 75% of these pictures.  She loves animals and nature so her attention span was quite short here.  I was still able to get a few good shots so I'm a happy momma.  I think I'll plan on doing this with her every year.  I'm getting my memories, whether she cooperates or not!

Cherry Tree

This is yet another case of multiple dress syndrome.  I just did the count in my head and I own this Bernie Dexter Paris dress in four different prints.  Like I've said in the past, the Paris cut is my favorite of all the Bernie dresses.  The fit is wonderful, I love the shelf bust, and it comes with pockets.  This dress also happens to be my very first cherry print piece.  I love an abstract fruit print but sometimes you need to go with a classic.  Hopefully I don't look like a crazy hoarder and you can see why I need it in so many fun prints!
