Garden Sketch

Modcloth Garden Sketch dress 005

I've avoided anything with buttons down the front for the past year.  When your proportions are completely off (no thanks to breastfeeding) one of two things happen.  Either the fit in the waist is perfect and it's completely gaping in the bust, or I'm swimming in the waist but the bust actually fits.  Because I buy almost all of my clothing online, it's just easier to avoid these situations all together.  Since I'm almost finished breastfeeding I've decided to revisit this adorable style.  It's still a tad small in the bust (but not terrible) and by the beginning of next year I'm sure it will fit perfectly.  It's exciting and also somewhat sad to see this period of time end.  I'm going to enjoy these last three months to the fullest!

Bianca has been sick for the last few days and it has been tough on the both of us.  Her sleeping patterns have totally changed, she gets upset when she eats, and she's been extra cranky lately.  Babies her age normally go through a growth spurt and she's no different.  I'm hoping this passes quickly, it's hard to see her in pain.

Kevin and I have started planning our first vacation in over two years!  We're going up to the mountains early next year.  I haven't seen snow in at least 10-15 years and it will be fun to have Bianca experience it as well.  My brother and his wife are coming and so are our three dogs.  We're going to rent a cabin and get away from the world for a few days.  It's a long time coming and I'll be counting the days until then.

xoxo

  3. I agree with Sammi, this is seriously stunning. I LOVE the crown with your hair color and the button up dress looks amazing on you! I hope little B feels better soon and want to hear more about this mountain getaway! Renting a cabin in the mountains with friends and family is seriously one of my favorite things ever! :)

  4. I 3rd Sammi & Hannah- stunning! The neutral shade of the dress look so perfect with the brights of your hair and flower crown- which has to be one of the prettiest flower crowns, btw! This cut looks really good on you, sometimes I have the opposite problem with shirt dresses being to loose on the bust- haha :) Yay for vacations!

  6. Congratulations on finding a dress that fits so well! It's lovely on you, very soft and sweet. Love that flower crown as well.
Have fun on your vacation! It sounds like it should be delightful, and I'm sure it'll be a treat to give your daughter her first taste (probably literally as well as figuratively) of snow.

  7. Shirt dresses are my nemesis! And that's before a baby in my case, so heavens knows what would happen after that! At least I won't miss wearing them! This one looks great on you even if a tiny bit too tight still - and I love the colour with your new purple hair. Having a holiday far off in the future to look forward to can be a good thing sometimes, it gets you through rubbish days. CC x

  9. You should take your trip to the mountains of Colorado, and then I'd get to see you guys! Plus CO mountains are more beautiful. Downside: You'd have to take a baby on a plane. :|

  18. I have avoided buttons for the same reason; I'm excited to be able revisit clothes I haven't worn in a long time due to breastfeeding, but so sad to let go of the mommy-baby connection!
