Do I really need an excuse to wear this much color?  I think not!  When Jessica sent me this dress for Christmas I was pretty giddy with excitement.  She sent along a little note saying she noticed I didn't have many dresses in this color and she was totally right.  I don't know if this happens to you but I tend to buy similar things in spurts.  Sometimes it's prints, other times it's colors, but I guess I've somehow missed the turquoise train.  I'm glad she's put more thought into my wardrobe than I have these last few months.  That's definitely what friends are for!

Out of the Ordinary

Yep, it's true.  I'm wearing pants.  This isn't a very common occurrence but I felt like challenging myself today and pants was the best/hardest way to do it.  Not only do I think pants make my hourglass figure look misshapen, but I have a hard time putting together a cute outfit that also feels feminine.  I'm most comfortable when my legs are free from constricting jean material so you can see why I considered this a challenge!  Either way, I was up for it and I feel this outfit is feminine enough for me.

Wedding Dress Remix

I wasn't lying when I told you I would style my wedding dress for everyday wear by the end of the month!  So naturally, I waited until the last day to do it.  When I decided to wear a short wedding dress, I knew I wanted to buy something that could be worn more than once.  I've heard so many stories of women who wear their dress once, get it cleaned and put in a pretty box so it never sees the light of day again.  That's just not me!  Luckily, Ruche had the perfect dress that I could wear to the courthouse and beyond :)

Swimming Through Our Dreams

This outfit was worn a couple weekends ago when my husband and I were house hunting.  It was 80 degrees out and I needed something cute and functional but also comfortable enough to be out all day in.  This lace dress is something I've had for a few years but I never wear for two reasons.  One, it has spaghetti straps and I hate wearing strapless bras.  And two, it's a little short for my taste.  It used to be longer but I accidentally put it in the dryer which essentially made me throw it in the back of my closet with the rest of my forgotten pieces.  But I chose to stop being a baby, put on a strapless bra, and surprisingly enough received a ton of compliments from strangers all day.

Make Me Swoon

Okay, I'm officially back from the whirlwind of celebrations I've had with my families.  I had the chance to be with my side of the family, Kevin's side (which will soon be my side as well), and we also got to celebrate both me and my little brother's birthday.  We happen to be 8 years and one day apart :).  This time of year is always crammed with events so it's almost a breath of fresh air to have it all behind me!  Is that bad?

Summer is officially in full swing here in Los Angeles.  The heat is almost unbearable, I attended my first BBQ of the summer yesterday, and my winter clothes are on their way back to my storage unit (yes, the closets in my place can't even hold all my clothes... it's a sickness).  While I have yet to put on a swimsuit, I feel the urge to slap one on and high tail it to the beach.  Anyone want to come with?

Just letting you all know my brother is doing well and is finally recovering at home!  This past week was super stressful and I'm so thankful to all of you for the well wishes.

This is somewhat of an old dress, but I love it.  I rarely let the legs out (as you can tell by my whiteness) but this past week has been so incredibly hot that I've had to break out the summer dresses.  Now to get a little bit of a tan so these dresses work even better...

Oh, if you haven't been to Target lately, you should check out their new line The Webster.  I just bought a few pieces and they are AMAZING!  I'll post some pics soon!

Vintage Inspired Wedding

If you don't shop at Ruche, you may want to start!  Not only do they have amazing clothes and accessories, they just launched a bridal collection today.  It's an affordable line of bridal and bridesmaids dresses, accessories, shoes, and so forth.  Their lookbook is gorgeous and it reminds me of what my dream wedding would be like: elegant and demure.  Here are some of my favorite pictures.

I think I go through stages when it comes to jewelry.  Sometimes I like to go overboard and accessorize, other times I like to let my clothing make the statement.  Today I guess I felt like going jewelry crazy!  I think pearls are very classic and feminine.  I love to add them to an already girly outfit, much like this dress.  Zara really knows my style, so the minute I saw the lace hemline I knew I had to get it!

I can't end this post without talking about my vintage beaded clutch.  It's so pretty and delicate, it's probably why I never let it out of my closet :).  Hope you're having a great week!
