This outfit was worn a couple weekends ago when my husband and I were house hunting. It was 80 degrees out and I needed something cute and functional but also comfortable enough to be out all day in. This lace dress is something I've had for a few years but I never wear for two reasons. One, it has spaghetti straps and I hate wearing strapless bras. And two, it's a little short for my taste. It used to be longer but I accidentally put it in the dryer which essentially made me throw it in the back of my closet with the rest of my forgotten pieces. But I chose to stop being a baby, put on a strapless bra, and surprisingly enough received a ton of compliments from strangers all day.
Let me just say, finding a home is really hard! Initially we were only looking into "lived in" homes, but we now see that there are brand new homes in our desired neighborhood and price range. If it were up to us we would love to move into a brand new home with the features we want. I'm just surprised that our dream might be a reality! Hopefully all goes well and we find the perfect one. Send those prayers and positive vibes our way, we could sure use them!
congratulations on realizing your dreams with a new home. i am supremely envious. i adore that you're somewhere warm enough to wear something like this and dying for it myself! kw ladies in navy
Glad you were able to rediscover that dress! It's really cute! Good luck with house hunting! Our family went through the same thing last year.... it took us forever to find the perfect house, until we realized that the perfect home is what we turn it into. A house is just a roof over our heads with functioning appliances, a home is where you turn that house into a place your family will fall in love with :) Good luck!!
Wow this dress fits you perfectly but I totally understand what you mean about the strapless bra, they are so uncomfortable sometimes! Good luck house hunting! I remember how frustrated I was apartment hunting, I can image house hunting is so much harder! It's so cute seeing you write "My husband" now :)
Love this dress paired with that cardigan! And yesss house hunting is hard! We tried looking in the Rancho area but it's so hard because a lot of people nowadays come in with cash down payments. It's so extremely competitive. Good luck!
I love this dress mostly because it's so different for you. I used to hate strapless bras, but I finally got a good one (at Target no less) and it's since made me less of a hater. Spaghetti straps are also not the best at staying up. ANYWAYS, your hair is looking so pretty and so much less red. I have shoes almost exactly like yours! This kind of makes me want to wear them. Oh, and you have really great eyebrow shape and I am envious. My eyebrows stand no chance. AND lastly, good luck on the house hunt! I'm sure you will find your dream home!
So glad you refound the dress because it is gorgeous! I love how you added a nice pop of color with the cute cardigan:) This is such a great house hunting outfit, I hope you find the house you want soon!
I loooove this dress!!! It looks absolutely wonderful with this cardigan, such a perfect combination. I am sure you guys will find the perfect house, I can imagine looking is quite stressful though! xJennaD
Woah, you look awesome in this dress! I love the sweet details like the color of the cardigan and the cute dog necklace. Also, I'm insanely jealous of your CA weather, you don't even know.
This dress really looks fantastic on you. Strapless bras are such a pain, but they're worth it when the dress is this cute! I love the pretty, spring-y color of your cardigan too.
Ashley, this outfit is so pretty and looks amazing on you! I really like that fun peachy color, it suits you nicely :) Good look on finding a home, I'm sure you will find one that is great for you in time :) You look gorgeous!!!
You look so pretty. I love your dress and your little necklace. House hunting sounds so exciting. I am envious. I would love to be looking for my dream home right now.
Home buying is an adventure - I'm SO excited for you guys! And being able to buy a newer place would be nice and easier - our home was built in the 1940s and had a lot of work done by like DIY home owners who kind of really sucked it. They used paper as insulation, our small addition on the back is just a breezy cold room (although adorable) and the heater sounds like someone is cclomping around in the vents. Not to mention the fact EVERYONE thought it was haunted. Anyhow - this dress is SO supter cute. I always just end up wearing bras with thinner straps with spaghetti strap dresses. Oops. Or those clear straps!!!! I wore those in Baltimore, so awesome. Lately I've been wearing bras with some of my open back dresses and editing out if the bra shows in the photos. I actually don't even always do that! Ha!
The lace detailing on this dress is beautiful!! but I totally understand your issue with spaghetti straps-- I'm the same way. Thank goodness for cardigans and other layering shirts!
Good luck with the house hunt! Can't wait to hear more about the next ones you check out. :)
The lace detail is gorgeous and perfect for a hot sunny day! Good luck to you on finding YOUR home!

I'm with you on hating strapless bras. This does look very pretty on you, especially with the peach cardigan.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck on the home search. I have heard that the house prices in LA are down actually...hard to believe.

The dress is SO pretty on you! I find strapless bras to be so annoying/uncomfortable but some clothes just call for them.
