Out of the Ordinary

pants

Yep, it's true.  I'm wearing pants.  This isn't a very common occurrence but I felt like challenging myself today and pants was the best/hardest way to do it.  Not only do I think pants make my hourglass figure look misshapen, but I have a hard time putting together a cute outfit that also feels feminine.  I'm most comfortable when my legs are free from constricting jean material so you can see why I considered this a challenge!  Either way, I was up for it and I feel this outfit is feminine enough for me.

Top- c/o August Wrinkle
Cardigan- New York & Co. (remixed)
Pants- Zara
Shoes- Target
Belt- Forever 21
Necklace- Gift

The way I chose to make these pants look feminine was the addition of a lace peplum top and a great pair of wedges.  I think this top from August Wrinkle is so pretty.  I especially love the deep scoop detail in the back.  My leopard wedges are a summer staple, but this warmer weather has me pulling them out a little early this year.  How do you like to wear jeans?  And how would you dress them up?  I'd love to hear your suggestions!

  1. That lace top is SO pretty! I wear jeans allll the time in the winter...I find it's just too darn cold for skirts/dresses!

  3. Oh, this is the frist (or second??) time I've ever seen you in pants. You look cute though!

Huh, now that I think about it, I tend to go very classic- button-ups, plain Ts with boot-cut or wider legged jeans or cigarette pants- or boyish- a blazer. If they are skinny jeans, I like to pair with something a little more flowy on top.

  10. I think you look amazing in pants as well as dresses, you could rock anything lady!!! I have issues styling pants to, but forcing yourself to do it makes it easier and they can be so damn comfy sometimes. I am loving the lace peplum top and those leopard print wedges are to die for! You look gorgeous as always :)
