Come Fly With Me

Pinup Girl Clothing Heidi dress in Mary Blair Planes print

The things I will do for some pretty pictures... Bianca and I went to our favorite nature preserve yesterday for a nice walk and an opportunity to take some outfit photos.  There's a gorgeous secluded area off a hiking trail that I was walking towards until I discovered something frightening: a snake!  I nearly ran it over with my heavy duty hiking stroller because it was slithering across the path.  Thankfully, we locked eyes (I'm not even joking) before the potential snake attack and I quickly turned around and ran.  I guess it was his way of telling me I couldn't use his home as a photo location.  Maybe next time!

Shoes- GoJane
Underskirt- Pinup Girl Clothing
Necklace- Femme De Bloom

Initially I planned to wear some cute red heels with this dress.  I even had them packed when I took these pictures.  Yet part of me wanted to showcase my go-to "running errands" shoes.  These jellies are amazing.  I actually have them in two different colors!  They match basically everything I own and have a practical yet pretty look to them.  I've been guilty of wearing these to work too, but only when my Chelsea Crew or Bettie Page heels don't match my outfit.

This is yet another Mary Blair addition to my closet.  It's also my first Heidi dress.  I can't really explain why I wasn't attracted to the Heidi initially, but I'm glad this plane print convinced me to take the plunge.  It's considerably lighter than any other Pinup Girl Clothing dress I own and probably the most comfortable.  I tend to enjoy a more modest dress and the Heidi has the perfect mixture of sexy and practical.  Anytime I can wear a normal bra under a dress I consider that a win!  I was actually stopped by people three separate times at the grocery store asking about the dress.  I used the time to give them a mini history lesson on Mary Blair and invite them to the in store event next Saturday ;).

xoxo

  4. I love the Heidi--looks great on you! I have noticed that you prefer to be more modest, but the Heidi is not too revealing.

  11. I can see why it didn't initially appeal to you -- on PUG I didn't like it as much as I like it on you. Sometimes, it just takes getting one for yourself to try out! I think you look fabulous. And I'm so glad you avoided a snake attack! Scary.
Those jellies are so pretty; if they had any silver ones left, I'd be snapping them up right away!
