Bedroom Redesign

Living in Los Angeles definitely has its perks.  I feel so very lucky to live in a beautiful and safe town filled with some of the best restaurants and shopping in the world.  While my surroundings are amazing, rent in this area is pretty ridiculous and space is scarce as well.  

When Kevin and I were looking for an apartment we stumbled on what seemed like a dream.  Large two bedroom newly renovated apartment, centrally located, and decent rent.  Only problem?  Our bedroom is pretty small!  We had to be creative with our furniture and settle for a queen sized bed (nothing bigger would fit!) but it works.

When we originally decorated our bedroom we pretty much went for muted tones.  To this day I really don't know why, but after two years I was ready for a change.  So I treated myself to a mini shopping spree at Target and this is what I came up with :)

Grey and yellow is one of my favorite color combinations.  I like the idea of bright colors in the bedroom because our family room is filled with deep reds and browns.  Of course I had to get a duvet with stripes, it just feels fun!

These sheets are comfortable, cool, and cute.  I was going to do basic yellow but ultimately decided that mixing prints would add more depth.

This lamp is still from my old design, I'm still on the hunt for a yellow shade!  But I'm going to slowly incorporate yellow pieces to the room.

Of course I had to add some pictures of Paczki and Tommy.  They sleep in our bed every night and they approve!
