Back Again

Blog photos 001

This is absolutely one of my favorite skirts.  I've had it for a few years and I could never see myself parting with it.  Since I was pregnant much of last year, many of my favorite skirts went into hiding.  I can happily say that they're back and fit comfortably again so you'll see a lot more of them in the future.  It's like I have a whole new wardrobe... At least I need to convince myself that!

My husband got a brand new car last week.  It was a pretty big deal because three years ago he went from a Mercedes to a Jetta.  We were downsizing because we wanted to save for a house.  Now that we have that house, it was time for him to get what he wanted: Another Mercedes.  We both like to live within our means and we don't have any student loans or credit card debt so this was his first treat in a very long time!  I'll be getting a new car too, probably at the beginning of next year.  I've outgrown my car and need something that can comfortably accommodate Bianca.  I hate car shopping so I'll probably just let Kevin handle that car too.

I did get to treat myself a little bit this week too.  I got the new iPhone6!  I've been using the 4S for so many years and I was ready to upgrade.  I'm totally not used to how thin and large the screen is but I think it will work out ;).

  1. Congrats on the new car!

Also, I love how simply and elegantly you styled this skirt, but then I love it every way I've seen it styled on you or FT girls.

  2. I love the neutral tones of this skirt - I bet you can pair it with lots of colours. It's very classy and I like seeing you in a skirt-top combo. I have no interest in car shopping either, but I also have a new iPhone! I went for the 6 plus though - really is huge!! x

  3. Love this skirt, and woohoo for new cars! I have to think about car shopping pretty soon, myself... but for now, we will truly be phone twins, because I am ALSO upgrading from the 4S and am awaiting my gold iPhone 6 to come in the mail! <3

  4. I love this skirt- it has so many remixing possibilities because of the neutral colors, but is so unique with the big polka dots. Super fun. Congrats on the new gadget and toys, it feels good to treat yourself after saving up. I'm with ya on the debt free thing- debt gives me too much anxiety, I would never be able to enjoy the stuff I was buying :)

  5. I love your outfit! Black, red, and beige is one of my favorite color combinations. Happy to hear your skirts will be coming out of hiding soon! Also congrats on the new iPhone. I also got one after having the 4S for 2.5 years so I know what a big change that was! Congrats on the new car too!

  6. That is an amazing skirt! I love the size of the print, it reminds me of chocolate chip ice cream :) The red belt and leopard shoes are perfect with it, but I look forward to seeing the other ways you style it, too! I've reunited with some clothes I left behind when I moved to Finland last year, and it does feel like they're new again.

Congrats on the new phone! I just upgraded to the 5S from my old 4S, and it feels like such a luxury to have a phone that works so well.

  8. Oh yay to getting a new car!! It's one of the most exciting new purchases to have, but not the most fun to shop for (in my opinion).

Skirts on the other hand - lots of fun! I love this one on you. The big polka dots rock :)

  11. I know I already holla'd on twitter, but I've always loved this skirt and I was so mad when I found this store in Cleveland and they didn't have a single item like this in it. I mostly just like this because it reminds me of old school Ashley. Not that there is anything with your current style (obviously), but because I can actually take notes and jack this style :)
