Harlequin

Pinup Girl Clothing Pinup Couture Jenny skirt in Harlequin Dixiefried Bustier top

Another day, another location adventure.  I've been taking advantage of the summer-like conditions to go out and explore the beautiful nature preserves in my town.  I'm no stranger to this particular area, one of my best friends was married here a few years ago.  I've also gone on countless field trips to the nature center as a child.  They had (and still have) a really fun animal show that also teaches you how to respect nature and the animals that live there.  I'm hoping to take Bianca when she's a little older.  She's already showing signs of being a crazy animal lady, just like her momma!

I'm no stranger to Pinup Girl Clothing's harlequin collection.  I bought the purple harlequin Jenny dress last summer at their yard sale and I've been in love ever since.  I'm doing my best to add more separates to my closet so the Jenny skirt was an easy transition.  As usual, the quality is impeccable and the fabric is a heavy cotton.  I paired it with my canvas underskirt for subtle volume.  I'm still not used to wearing my skirts with less "poof" but it's just so much more comfortable.

The bustier top is boned and keeps its shape like noting else!  It buttons down in the back so it's a little difficult to get on by myself, but once it's on it won't move out of place.  Although it's heavily structured, it doesn't cut into your skin or feel in any way uncomfortable.  I usually steer clear from strapless tops but I can't wait to wear the heck out of this one over summer!

  1. Lovely! I like the subtle hit of green, it's a nice way to get into the holiday spirit without feeling like a leprechaun. Also, where's that top from? I don't do strapless much, but I love the look sometimes, and a top with boning sounds so ideal.

  2. Finding a secure strapless bustier top is so difficult. It looks perfect with the harlequin skirt.
And hooray for the animal lovers! I was one of those little kids who wasn't afraid to carry tarantulas and iguanas. Hahaha

  3. SO gorgeous. Please teach me your hair magic! Also, this combination is great together. Strapless tops can be so tough for us bustier gals, and it's nice to know that this one stays put and is comfy!

  4. Your hair is quite simply perfect in these photos - I have serious hair envy! And clothes envy, this is basically my idea of a perfect summer outfit. The ruffles on the bustier, the print on the skirt... so beautiful <3 CC x

  6. Ooo I really like this strapless bustier top! It looks like it fits perfectly and I bet it'll be great when the temperatures get really hot. The pattern on this skirt is gorgeous too. Such a fun mix of color!
