Castle In The Sky

candystripe2

I'm not going to lie, it's been quite some time since I've put on makeup AND curled my hair.  I don't even want to admit when the last time I put lipstick on was.  I feel like laziness has gotten the best of me which I would never consider a good thing.  So I finally peeled myself off the couch and did myself up.  I don't know why I get into these ruts because it actually feels really nice!  Hopefully this will be my motivation to keep it up...

Dress- Ruche (on sale!)
Stockings- Macy's
Ring- Forever 21
Belt- from another dress

I got this dress from Ruche not too long ago on what I call "super sale".  The description of the dress mentioned an elastic waistband which was an automatic sold in my mind.  I find that as long as the dress has a free or elastic waist and I go up one size I can fit non maternity clothing just fine.  Now that I'm on a strict budget, every piece I buy needs to have longevity.  It's odd to think about how wasteful I was with my money before we bought a house.  If anything, I've learned to really invest in my wardrobe instead of purchasing things on a whim.  Another life lesson of being an adult, I guess!

xoxo

  1. We're saving up money for a move right now, and it's taught me to think very carefully about what clothes I buys (or, mostly, NOT buy). This outfit looks very YOU!

  3. This is such a great striped dress, it looks so perfect with that blazer. Those glasses and knee high socks are the best accessories for this. We all get lazy sometimes, it must be so much harder for you being pregnant and working :( You look gorgeous!!

  10. Is a great idea to buy dresses/clothing that would last you for a very long time. I always tend to buy things that I can mix and match with what I already have! That said, you look so adorable... as always! <3

  12. It's so hard to go from buying things on a whim all the time to having to really save! You have such an awesome wardrobe though, I'm sure you can pull it off just fine :) You look so pretty in these! I'm loving the sunnies and the knee highs. I totally know what you mean about getting into lazy ruts. Sometimes after working all day I seriously don't want to do ANYTHING. But hey, you have an excuse! It's hard work growing a baby! Haha.

  14. We bought out house four years ago and it made me change my spending habits quite a bit! I used to waste so much money! We are saving for our next house and have a two year saving plan so I'm trying hard not to buy too many maternity clothes. X

  22. Girl, you look so badass with those sunglasses and the dress! Your pre-maternity style translated so well over the last few months, I honestly don't know how you do it so flawlessly! How are you still rocking the heels/wedges too? You're such a rockstar!

  23. You look gorgeous! I've been in a no-makeup and not-getting-ready rut for a bit now, too. It's nice to take breaks but I do feel better when I put time into myself. Appearance isn't totally important, but I really do enjoy doing my makeup and wearing something fresh.

    You look really lovely.
