Stranger to Myself

floraldress7

These days I rarely have time to catch up on blogs (let alone update my own) but I get quite envious of those bloggers who are actually experiencing colder climates.  Here in California I'm dealing with triple digit temps and it's killing me!  Carrying all this extra weight is hard enough as it is but being hot all the time is making it so much worse.  I look forward to the day when I can order my pumpkin spiced latte hot!

Dress- Modcloth
Belt- from another dress
Shoes- Seychelles
Bracelet- Swarovski
Headband- Forever 21

This dress was the last of my latest Modcloth haul.  I really love the print and the cutout detail on the neckline.  I'm excited to take this piece from summer into fall and hopefully throughout my pregnancy.  To be honest, I've had a really hard time dealing with the weight gain and how it's affecting my wardrobe and my self esteem.  While I know I'm gaining for my daughter, it's still kind of hard to look in the mirror and not be worried if I'll ever take this all off.  There are so many emotions (and hormones) going on and sometimes it feels good to air them out... Even if it's on the Internet for everyone to read!

I'm really excited to have dinner with my brother and his fiancee this weekend.  Since he is no longer our neighbor I feel like we never see them.  I love all my siblings, but I feel most connected to him.  Which is kind of funny because I was really upset and jealous when he was born.  My parents converted the playroom so he could have a nursery, so obviously I was crushed.  Plus I wasn't into having a boy in the house.  But hey, I was six, don't judge me :)

I hope you have a lovely weekend!

xoxo

Ashley

  3. Super cute dress! Our temps aren't in the triple digits, but they're still a bit warm for my liking! I'm ready for cooler air for sure, these little ones sure make us into a furnace don't they?

  4. Girl, I totally feel you about the hot weather! However, the good thing for us is that when those bloggers are under several feet of snow, we will be enjoying a mild winter ;)

I love your dress too, the print is so pretty! You look fabulous! I know it must be really weird to see your body change so fast, but I think you look amazing!

  5. I'm getting so busy too and it's. only my first week back, I'm worried I'm not going to be able to keep up!
You look so wonderful, this printed dress is gorgeous! I love the pattern and fit! I can understand how frustrating it is to see your body change, when I had surgeries I dropped almost 20 lbs (which was frighteningly thin) then gained it back plus another 10. It was so confusing to see my body shift so much in such a short period of time, nothing fit!!. Just enjoy your pregnancy for now and know that it'll get easier, you'll get to a place where you're comfortable and feel like yourself again :)

Anyways, you look adorable in this dress. Love the red accessories with it and I am really loving your hair too :)

  10. I want it to be cold too! I'm tired of seeing everyone in sweaters, and it's freakin 90 here. You look beautiful as always. You have to remember that the weight you're gaining is healthier for both of you. You're just used to relating weight gain to being unhealthy, like most girls are. You are stunning really and any weight you gain, will ONLY be beneficial. Take it one day at a time, pretty girl. :)

  12. This dress is super cute. It feels like it turned to autumn today in the uk. It is literally half the temperature it was yesterday and it has rained for the past 24hrs! I was looking forward to autumn leaves and cosy jumpers but I already want summer back! Xx

  16. You sound busy! I do love this look though. The florals are great and with that belt and shoes- adorable!

PS I recently sent an email to you. I know you've been busy, but thought I should check and see if you got it, or if it did not go through (I've been having issues with that recently...). If you'd just let me know when you have a moment. Thanks!

  20. You look gorgeous in this dress! I definitely feel you with the hot temperatures and cool-weather jealousy. Just know you always have a blogger friend who's sick of the hot weather too! It seriously needs to be fall already.

Also, I'm sure I'll feel the same way as you when I'm pregnant some day. I think most women worry about the weight gain and the after-baby body. You're going to be fine though! You'll have your baby girl to distract you until your body shrinks back up! Plus you look super cute pregnant so no worries.

You'll be beautiful no matter what. Look what your body can do -- you're growing a HUMAN in there! That's stinking amazing! :D

  23. It is okay and I think normal to feel sad about the weight gain especially when you are the kind of girl that loves to dress nice...I cried last Thanksgiving because I had a cute outfit planned out and it made me feel like a marshmallow...so I can to change. For 27 years I have been thin...and then you are not...it is hard..but you will get back to your old size...:-)

  29. I am catching up on blogs now and realized I was behind in reading yours by about 6 posts. . .Looking at them now! Love this outfit! You are so beautiful! I haven't even had much time to update my own blog lately! That was a cute story about your brother! I can see how that would be sad to have to give up your playroom for him, but I am glad that you accepted it in time haha. Hope your dinner with him went well!
