Do I need a reason to wear a beautiful dress and wander the forest? Never. As someone with a vast Selkie dress collection, I tend to try new styles when they drop. I purchased this French Storybook dress last year for many reasons but mostly because I love this new (at the time) style. It's also a cotton dress so it's breathable and super comfortable. I've worn this piece several times now but I felt like it needed to live forever here on my blog.
Dress- Selkie
Shoes- Swedish Hasbeens
Hat- Amazon
The French Storybook dress is a pinafore dress with a puff sleeve top underneath... except they're attached to each other. The sleeves are big and puffy, there's a buttoned neckline with a collar and a voluminous midi skirt with a ruffle at the bottom and a self tie back. I tend to waffle between a size small and a medium but I decided on the medium. It fits really well but I think I would have been okay in a small as well. The print is called Night in Paris, which features gorgeous blooms and feathered friends: two of my favorite things. While this print is almost completely sold out, the French Storybook style is available in sizes XXS-6X in other ethereal prints.
This style is one of my favorite Selkie silhouettes. I would say it's perfect but it's missing pockets. Every dress wearing person needs pockets, right?! Hoping one day this style will include them so I can buy them all.
