Shorts are a new and unexpected addition to my current wardrobe, but I'm welcoming them with open arms. As someone who is very self conscious about their bottom half (mine tends to be much larger than the rest of my body), shorts just tend to emphasize it. But I'm coming to terms with, and starting to love my body, so I decided to feature them here. I have several pairs of these Laura Byrnes shorts because they're extremely flattering. I love the high cut, wide waistband, and pockets. The back band is elasticized, so there's no gaping when you sit down. I feel lucky that I can enjoy these shorts a little while longer before they're packed away until spring!

Before I was brave enough to venture out on my own to take pictures, the side yard of my house was the perfect place. The lighting was great in the afternoon (right when I got home from work), it was private, and I didn't have to leave my property. I've since upped my photography game and have been happy with the results, but Bianca was napping the other day and I had no other opportunity to leave before the sun went down. So here's a little throwback to my old photo spot! Obviously, the best part of shooting at my home is the furry friends that come to watch me. Tommy was the only one willing to sit still for a photo so I had to include him!

You seriously look amazing in shorts. You have a very well proportioned body! I'd love to have a little more hips and butt to balance my body out, but I'm still a big fan of styling shorts. Especially high waisted ones like these. The pattern is so fun and looks wonderful with that pink top. Such a pretty, colorful outfit!
