Finding Neverland

Pinup Girl Clothing Jenny Skirt in Neverland Print 001

The novelty print that trumps all novelty prints.  That's how I feel about this skirt.  I've been obsessed with this Peter Pan themed print for the last year and I'm so happy it's finally been added to my closet.  If you can't already tell, I'm not the biggest advocate of separates.  Wearing dresses is my thing mostly because it requires less thought.  While this skirt is also offered in a dress version, I felt like it was a little overbearing on my frame.  So I challenge myself every time I wear this skirt because it requires me to actually put a more elaborate outfit together.

I feel like all I do is talk about my hair lately.  But seriously, I've considered going on a little blogging hiatus until my stupid bangs grow out.  I hate them so much.  It's hard enough to make them look presentable in the real world, but to plaster pictures of my obnoxious growing out phase on the internet seems like I'm punishing myself.  I've tried almost everything to keep them out of my way but it always ends up looking dumb.  I hope these next few weeks fly by, otherwise I'm going to set up a date with my trimming scissors.

  1. AH when did you get the skirt?! You and I feel the same way about dresses vs. skirts, but I actually really love this in the skirt form. As a dress, it can be somewhat limited in terms of how I wear it, and I love it with this cropped top. As for the bangs... I definitely didn't even notice them here, so I'm sure it's something that stands out way more to you than us -- plus, you just look so darn cute that maybe it's a distraction :)

  2. Very cute skirt - and I always love it when you do happen to post looks with separates as that's much more my style as EVERY dress seems to overwhelm me, so it's nice to have someone so well dressed to take inspiration from ;) Like Sammi, I didn't notice your bangs (or fringe as I'd call it!) until you pointed them out, but I can completely appreciate that things about our hair that annoys us seems to be like a giant beacon on our head... I wonder if you've tried experimenting with a little 50s style roll or quiff to keep them out of the way? I find that with a bit of persuasion and hair pomade/hairspray I can get mine out of the way in a pretty manner if I want to :) CC x

  3. Epic skirt and I love the way you've styled it with a plain top so the skirt gets all the attention and it looks gorgeous with your hair. I too have just grown out a really short fringe and was so lucky I did most of it behind closed doors...I took to pleats and wore it Heidi style on top of my head, but I'm glad it now all goes back into a top bun. Then of course I see photos of me with a fringe and think I suit that better and need to cut it again!

  5. I have to agree with Sammi! I was too focused on those amazing sunglasses and how darling you look in this skirt (but seriously skirts are impossible! I always giggle at people complimenting me on wearing dresses; they don't realise it's the 'lazy' way of dressing?!)... to even notice your bangs! Bangs is such a cute word it makes me giggle - it's a fringe to us Australians. I had to go back and look at the photos again to even notice! Your hair looks fantastic as always xx

  6. This is such a great color and length on you. I am so impressed with your ability to pull of totally different styles.

As for your bangs...when I had weird bangs I would victor roll them or tease 'em and pin them back. I'm sure you've tried these both, but I promise they don't look bad at all. Like not even a little bit.

  7. LOVING your skirt!!! It goes perfectly with your hair (your outfits always do!). I love that you wore it with a plain top; the adorable print stands out more that way. And I would never guess that anything is off with your bangs. They look pretty perfect in these pictures :).
