I've been on an organizing kick lately and the first place I wanted to tackle was my closet. I usually have to comb through it about twice a year. Bags get thrown around, jewelry is unorganized and shoes are shoved in there on a whim. Once I get things looking presentable I try and color coordinate my dresses (OCD, anyone?). One thing I noticed this time around: my abundance of blue dresses. I didn't even realize how much I gravitate to blue until I had about twenty dresses neatly hanging next to each other. So what did I do last week? I swapped a former love for yet another blue dress. This one is special though, promise!
Dress- Modcloth (different color HERE)
Cardigan- Forever 21
Shoes- Sidecca
Ring- Forever 21
I was dying to purchase this dress years ago when Modcloth had it in pink but it was way out of my price range. So when a lovely lady wanted to swap her version in blue I was ecstatic! It's such a beautiful dress and I was determined to dress it down for everyday wear. This would be dressed down for me at least :).
Last night Kevin and I went to a very good friend's birthday party. It was a rare baby free night and we also went with my brother, his new wife, and my sister. It's a miracle when that many siblings are together at once! We all were dressed in our favorite retro outfits and danced the night away in our friend's new and ridiculously beautiful house. Maybe I should have become a surgeon like he did... I don't think I would be able to pull off the pink hair though!

ReplyDeleteA surgical nursing career is nothing to sniff at either though!
ReplyDeleteYou look FAN-TAS-TIC! in this dress by the way.
As soon as I started organizing my dresses by color, I also realized that I have an abundance of blue dress. There's no shame in that, though (: I love this blue dress on you! I love the little bow on the waist.
ReplyDeleteI find myself drawn to blue most of the time too. What a pretty dress and I'm really in love with the shoes! I'm with Marlen- I would totally dig a surgeon with pink hair :)
ReplyDeletei'm most jealous of that baby free night, lol! glad you had a nice time with friends and family. i find that i have a lot of purple in my closet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful dress, I don't blame you for switching even if it added to your abundance of blue (which I don't think is a bad thing)! A baby free night for the first time in a while sounds like a great thing, Im glad you got to enjoy your night!
ReplyDeleteIt's the best feeling scoring a beautiful dress through a swap, sounds like you had a fun night!

I'm in the midst of a closet clean out right now and I cannot believe the amount of hot pink items I own (it's not even my favorite color!) This shade of blue looks fantastic with your skin tone and hair, so I say stock up!

Another Beautiful Thing
That dress is the most beautiful shade of blue and you look fab! :D What an awesome fun night! Your family sounds adorably stylish. :D Sadly, I haven't been in the same room as all of my sibs in 2 years now; oh the joys of having sibs in 3 different hemispheres... *sigh*
