Jewel Tones

emeralddress2

Do I really need an excuse to wear this much color?  I think not!  When Jessica sent me this dress for Christmas I was pretty giddy with excitement.  She sent along a little note saying she noticed I didn't have many dresses in this color and she was totally right.  I don't know if this happens to you but I tend to buy similar things in spurts.  Sometimes it's prints, other times it's colors, but I guess I've somehow missed the turquoise train.  I'm glad she's put more thought into my wardrobe than I have these last few months.  That's definitely what friends are for!

I've been tinkering with ideas to change my hair for the last few months.  I haven't dyed it since I covered my purple hair with a brown tint when I was about three months pregnant.  Since I couldn't really come up with anything I think I'm just going to keep it as natural as possible.  I'm a bridesmaid in my brother's wedding in May so I don't want to dye it pink again until afterwards (although I really want to do it again).  Even so, I think I'd probably do an ombre pink?  I just don't know how much time I'll have to bleach and dye my own hair anymore.

Are you planning any changes for the new year?

  1. This dress is gorgeous, and such a great colour on you! Jessica did an amazing job picking a piece out for you. I love that you paired it with bright tights too!!
I've been wanting to change my hair up lately too. I added more red and chopped it but it still feels so "the same", ya know?

  2. The colours in that dress are beautiful! Turquoise is my favourite colour and I don't think you can have too much of it. :) I hope you had a good Christmas and New Year!

  3. I would SO wear that outfit! I love all the rich colors, and turquoise is one of my favorite colors to wear. I also love your nail polish!!
I love having brightly colored hair, but when your hair is naturally dark like mine is and yours too...keeping up on the roots can me a lot of work! I think after my blue streak grows out another inch or two I'll probably cut my hair and go back to 100% natural.

  7. I'm trying to get up the guts to dye my hair again as I'm growing it out and i find it's been getting a bit stale (style-wise). But on the other hand - dyeing it is an expensive and time consuming exercise! :D

  8. You look stunning! I could never pull off that much color I am afraid. This year I think I want to go blonde - eeep! I wish I had the nerve to dye it blue...I think I am saving that for when my hair turns white naturally ;]

  10. Your outfits always inspire me to step out of my usual black/white/grey palette. You totally rock turquoise and I think it's super sweet that Jessica helped to fill that gap in your closet. Talk about sweet friends!

Can't wait to see what you do with your hair next. The more natural brown was a nice change of pace from the pink, but no matter what you do after your brother's wedding, I'm sure it'll be FIERCE!

  12. You look so gorgeous! I love how bright and colorful you look :D You should definitely do a pink ombre! Perhaps even slightly higher one just in case you get too busy. Much easier than all over :)

  14. I love that this dress looks so good on you and the color is great. Your hair looks good no matter what you do. Maybe you should go platinum again? haha, just kidding, I don't see you doing that, but I understand your desire to change. I'm right there with you!

Also good luck and best of wishes tomorrow with giving birth! Can't wait to see her!

  15. Ooo I can't wait to see your hair with pink in it again. It's so much fun! You can always do it while the baby is sleeping. Or make your husband take care of her for an hour or so while you do it! Maybe you'll be blessed with a baby that sleeps well. I hope so!

But anyway. This dress is awesome. What a gorgeous color! And no, you can never wear too much color. I love the way all these colors look together. You're so pretty.

Good luck having the baby today! You're going to do great!
