In Waiting

plaiddress5

This dress has literally been sitting in my closet for months.  I snagged it up during a Modcloth super sale last year but was much too pregnant to even zip it up when it arrived.  So I waited (not so patiently) until after B's birth to wear it out.  It may have been just a trip to the pediatrician, but these days I look for any excuse to put on a pretty dress.

Of course, I'm a sucker for anything with a full skirt and pockets so this was a perfect match.  I've also realized that I don't really own anything plaid so it was a nice new print to add to my closet.  Oh, and did I mention it was cheap?  I go absolutely crazy for a good deal.  I feel like if I allowed myself I'd probably be one of those crazy coupon ladies.  While I'm not that bad (yet), I still refuse to pay retail for clothes.  Even if I love it I know it will eventually go on sale :)

Yesterday my sister and I took B to her first photo shoot.  I woke up early so I could get ready before Kevin left for work and then spent the rest of the morning getting her ready.  If you're not a mother yet, I can't even begin to explain the amount of stuff you need to pack into a bag to take your child out of the house.  I'm glad I prepared a mental checklist because I had to use pretty much everything in her diaper bag.  She ended up peeing and pooping during the shoot (it was while she was naked, thankfully she only made a mess of me) and needing all kinds of soothing devices between shots.  It was a bit of madness but we got some great pictures!  I'll be sharing some of them next week.

Kevin and I are also celebrating our first wedding anniversary on Saturday.  I can't believe it's already been a year!  We will probably be spending it at home.  I'm much too scared to leave B with anyone yet so we will cook something together and take turns burping her.  Super romantic, right?

xoxo

  5. Haha, so you were pregnant FAST, huh? ;) This dress would be perfect for a picnic! You should have a picnic in your backyard with the baby and your husband for your anniversary. Well, if it isn't too cold. I don't know temps in Cali.
