Peace of Mind

So I'm officially 29 weeks which means that most of my wardrobe is off limits.  While anything with stretch is probably going to last me these next 11 weeks, most of my dresses have zippers.  When I'm feeling adventurous I like to try on these fitted pieces and see which ones I can still wear.  Thankfully, this black dress made the cut (just barely).  It's a great dress to wear in the cooler months because you can pair it with pretty much any color tights.  Oh, and I totally still wear these heels.  They're probably the most comfortable platform shoes I own.  I just have to be careful when I'm wear them around my dogs, I'm sure I could do a lot of damage with them!

I had the chance to meet up with my sister this past Sunday.  She's currently traveling with her client, an eccentric yet super cool billionaire, and spends most of her time living in New York City.  She was staying at a hotel in Beverly Hills so Kevin and I dressed up and made the trip to her hotel.  We had a dinner fit for a king over at Mastro's Steakhouse, one of my favorite restaurants in LA.  I can't remember the last time I ate so much food!  I have to say though, it was even more exciting watching my sister eat a massive piece of Chilean sea bass, (flourless) chocolate cake, and even ice cream!  As a nutritionist, she's pretty much sticks to raw fruit and veggies only.  I was overjoyed to not only spend some quality time with her, but to pig out on our favorite foods together like we were teenagers.

My first baby shower is in ten days!  I'm more stressed than excited these days, we had seventy people RSVP.  That's a lot of catered BBQ, alcohol, and dessert we need to get situated.  It's going to be a bit of a whirlwind for the next few days but I know I'm going to be happy when all my friends celebrate with us in our new home.  I hope I (or someone else) remembers to take pictures.  I'd love to share them with you!

  1. I love this dress, it looks great on you! And the bright red tights are such a perfect pop to this look. Those are my favourite heels of yours, they're badass.
That sounds like such a good time with your sister, also traveling with an eccentric billionaire sounds like a movie. What a cool life!

  2. That is a huge baby shower, wow! Good luck with the party.

Also- what a fun way to wear bright tights

  3. You look adorable in this dress! And good for you for still being able to wear those heels! You definitely need to take photos at your baby shower :)

  4. You look so cute in this dress! And way to rock those heels! Just this week I decided a couple of my heels might need to wait a bit. Getting a little more unsteady on my feet. I hope the shower goes well, I have one this weekend too but it's not quite that big!

  5. So pretty! Those heels are amazing. Hopefully your baby shower goes smoothly and you have a stress free time! <3

  6. I love the bright tights, so fun! I feel like it was just yesterday you announced your pregnancy on your blog and now your belly is so big! I'm so excited for you!

  7. 70 people?! Holy crap! Good luck with that, girl. At least you know that all your baby stuff will pretty much be covered, haha! There are two things I'm most in love with about this post. One, your shoes. And two, your bump! It's so freakin' cute, Ashley. Seriously. I'm still SO happy for you and getting more & more excited for you! :D

  12. BEautiful dress, it still looks fab on you. Sounds fun that you pigged out with your sis! All the best for your babyshower planning x

  13. You are looking so gorgeous! So you are two weeks ahead of me, then! How exciting; I hope you are feeling well! That dress looks stunning on you. I LOVE the sparkly details, and those shoes! I'm still able to wear chunkier heels, too, which is great. People constantly worry that I'll fall over, but really I've fallen over MUCH more in flat shoes than I ever have in heels, haha!
Anyway! I hope you have a wonderful baby shower; I can't imagine 70 people gathering in one spot!
    Happy Thursday!

  14. Wow your sister lives all the way across the country from you! That is really crazy and I am glad you got to see her! How wonderful!! I hope your baby showers go well whenever they all each are! You are beautiful in this dress and I really am amazed you can still fit in some pre-pregnancy clothes nearly 30 weeks through your pregnancy!!!!!

  15. I can't wait until it's time to wear tights again! Your red ones are so cute!
