I'm so happy to say that this will probably be one of the last times I'll be taking photos in my desert themed backyard. At this very moment it's being completely overhauled and turned into something more green. I love our home, but the backyard was pretty horrible. This was one of the bigger projects we had on our list but I'm happy to cross this one off. I really want to focus on the baby room, I'm dying to finish it!
Dress- Marshall's
Shoes- Forever 21
Bracelet- Forever 21
This is a non-maternity dress but I bought it specifically for when I get bigger. I'm a little hesitant about buying a lot of maternity pieces because they're only good during pregnancy. This dress is wearable now because of the empire waist but will also work later when I start to fill out. I also can't resist polka dots and the tiered scalloped top was a total win in my book.
A close friend of mine just had her baby girl yesterday. I couldn't be more excited! I love getting advice and feedback from her since she was a good five months ahead of me. I'm also looking forward to our kids growing up together. Our husbands have been best friends since they were really young and I'm hoping to continue that tradition :)
I hope you're having a wonderful week! I'll be working like crazy, I have to start paying those landscaping bills!
xoxo

Hi Ashley, this is such a beautiful feminine dress, looks lovely on you. It must be so exciting decorating a baby room!
ReplyDeleteOH my goodness, you are totally cute. I can't wait until the wee one starts to show even more! Your cuteness will be amped up by a thousand.
ReplyDeleteon the fashion side, that dress doesn't even look maternity. When my sis was pregnant she used to lament maternity clothes because they weren't cute and were cramping her style, but apparently they've gotten better because you look fab.
Also, polka dots are always a good choice.

I'm so jealous you are getting someone to landscape. We've been in our house for 7 years and keep meaning to get that done. Problem is there is always another trip or another dress I'd rather have.
ReplyDeleteThese colours really suit you. You are just glowing.

I think this dress hides your pretty baby bump pretty well that people would have no clue that you are pregnant! I look forward to seeing what the new yard will look like all green. You look beautiful!!!

Love the colors on this outfit, they work really well with your new hair color :) And how exciting to be getting your backyard done. I'm sure your baby will appreciate growing up with a backyard he/she can play in.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is so pretty and feminine! Smart of you to try to find non-maternity pieces so that you can still wear them after the baby is born.

Very cute dress! I have been trying to do the same thing - buying some non-maternity items that work because I'll be able to use them after for longer too. Hope all the landscaping goes well, those projects can be intense!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how your yard looks when it's finished! And I tend towards the same thing as you; I don't really want to buy too many maternity things (only the things I absolutely have to!) because I want my wardrobe to work whether I'm pregnant or not! That dress is so darling; I love the polka dots and scallops! So pretty.
ReplyDeleteI hope your baby and your friend's baby get to continue the tradition of being friends for life! That would be so sweet!

This dress is absolutely adorable! Scallops AND polka dots? I'm in love! It's wonderful that you're finding clothes that work without having to spend money on maternity items that you can only wear for a short amount of time. You are one inspirational lady!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see you finally this weekend! We need to figure out what we're doing! :)

ReplyDeleteDresses that can be worn before and during pregnancy are the best- I enjoy wearing what I call "preggo" dresses now even thought I'm not pregnant ;)
ReplyDeleteI love this super feminine look with the pastel color and the polkadots and the scallop hems! :) You are one pretty mom-to-be!

I remember this dress!! I cannot believe how comfortable you are still wearing heels. As a non-pregnant lady who already had a bit of trouble wobbling around in any shoe that isn't wedged, I can't help but want to high five you for your amazing ability to still walk in heels!

Ugh, landscaping! I think in the next few years we'll end up doing some of that too, I just don't know what yet. It's always nice when you can start adding your own touches to the place you live!
ReplyDeleteEven though I'm not thinking of having a baby soon, I've talked with my sister a lot during her two pregnancies and I understand about not wanting to buy maternity wear! I think buying dresses that will be forgiving is such a smart idea because you'll get a ton of use out of them after pregnancy too. This little number is so sweet! I love the scalloped top-it almost looks like a crop top and skirt- and the color is divine!
I'm still not over your perfect hair or this adorable dress that barely shows you are pregnant and I'm super looking forward to the backyard redo, though I happen to like the desert. How dare you switch it up on us.
ReplyDeleteso cute!! I just discovered your blog, you remind me of Katy Perry :)
