Ball and Chain

pink stripe5

My motto is: If you love something, buy it in several colors.  The lovely Jessica of Midwest Muse alerted me that this gorgeous dress was on the Ruche site a couple of weeks ago.  Not only do I have this dress in black, but Jessica has it in blue.  We both really love the cut and the fabric so I knew I had to have it in pink.  I actually snagged the very last one!  Thankfully one of us has it so it can be sent between California and Ohio :)

This dress actually reminds me of the old "candy stripers" in past hospital days.  I actually thought the outfits were pretty cute back then.  They may still exist, but I definitely don't see them at my work.  Anyway, I really wanted to add color to more color and play with different blue hues.  Nothing makes me instantly happy like putting on a cute colorful outfit!

This weekend is filled with... well... nothing for once!  I'll probably be taking it easy on Saturday and I'll be meeting up with my brother and my dad on Sunday.  You know you're getting older when you actually look forward to an empty schedule.  I'm more than embracing this age/stage of life/nesting period, I'm enjoying every bit of it!

  1. I'd never heard of Ruche until I discovered your blog a few weeks ago and I love it! This outfit is really cute. It does look like a candy striper uniform!

I used to work at the hospital and there were old lady candy striper volunteers. They didn't wear the cute outfit, they wore a red and white striped vest, white shirt, and white pants and shoes. They looked more like a barbershop quartet than candy stripers.

I look forward to doing nothing too. Enjoy the nothingness :)

  32. I can't believe I didn't buy this dress. I really don't know why I hesitated. It's seriously the best color and the best dress. I will need to borrow it and you will need to borrow the blue one too -- since you got it in black (still confused by that) and the colors work really well. You are perfect.

  33. I LOVE that dress so much!
