Iced Coffee Bettie

Tatyana Bettie Page Iced Coffee dress

It feels great to be back!  I wasn't away from my blog for long but I can't remember the last time I had a weekend without updating it.  I worked all weekend and also celebrated my second wedding anniversary with Kevin.  We're huge foodies and decided to go to one of my favorite restaurants on the planet, Capo.  Kevin had never been but I've been talking about their grilled calamari and pesto gnocchi for about five years now.  He loved it!  Added bonus: Al Pacino was sitting right behind me so Kevin had a fantastic view of two people he loves oh so very much.

I'm not the biggest fan of wiggle dresses but I'm doing my best to add some variety to my closet.  This dress also comes in a swing skirt version (which I love) but I missed out on it.  The more I wear this dress the more I love the silhouette, it just takes some getting used to.

This month marks my fourth year of blogging!  I wish I had remembered, I would have loved to do some special giveaway.  Unfortunately, I've been overwhelmed with family commitments and completely forgot.  I love being able to see how my blog and style has changed over the years, no matter how cringe-worthy that can be!  Of course, I cherish the friends I've made through this blog.  They're like sisters to me (you know who you are) and we understand sides of each other that some of my other friends don't.  It's been such a wonderful experience so far and I can't imagine my life without it :).

xoxo

  1. Hi Ashley, i just found your blog from June and Amelia's blog-i instantly fell in love with your style, wonderful photography and you have my dream hair (purple!). I am also very delighted when i learnt that you're around my age (sometimes i feel like my fellow bloggers are so young, that makes me feel so old even though i don't look that old hahaha) ^^. I am a 31 year old mother (of a playful 7 year old boy) from Indonesia. I am now obsessively reading your blog from the very first post *LOL*. I hope you don't find me too stalker-ish, i really love your posts! I know you must be getting this on a daily basis, but you really do look like Emily Blunt! OMG for this uber long comment, i hope you don't mind!

    1. Hi Mindy! Thank you so much! I can completely understand, a lot of bloggers tend to be a few years younger than us :). Let me apologize in advance for my older posts with the bad photography, hahaha! I hope you enjoy reading and thank you for the comment!

P.S. I do get Emily Blunt a lot, especially from my husband ♥

  2. I am OBSESSED with this dress on you!!! You look incredible. I'm glad you had a great (and yummy) anniversary, and congratulations on 4 years of blogging! It's funny how everyone's blog anniversaries are around the same time (I guess with the new year and everything). I am so very thankful we "met" and have become so close <3

    1. Aww thank you! I think it's funny that we all have similar anniversaries, it must be the whole new year thing. I've never made the correlation. I'm super thankful too, you're the best!

  3. You should definitely wear more wiggles - you look great and definitely have the figure for them! Such a lovely unusual colour this dress has, it's beautiful. And many happy anniversaries! I'm so grateful for the friends blogging has brought me too - sometimes blogging feels like one of the best things I've ever done! CC x

  5. Yep, this dress looks amazing on you! Gorgeous, gorgeous lady. I've been following your blog for a whiiiile now, and while we haven't always had similar style, I have loved watching your style evolve. You look GREAT! We also became mamas around the same time, so it's been great watching Bianca grow and seeing her changes and then comparing them to my little one! :)

  12. Dang, I still remember you announcing your engagement- how did it fly by that quickly?! Now I fee like I'm in a time warp and am having a crisis, haha. Also, you look amazing in a wiggle dress! This made me want to get one really, really badly- the shape of it is just beautiful. And I just love the way it goes with your hair. I'm having a total crush over this whole outfit- I want!

  15. Okay to be perfectly honest, I have never ever heard of the term "wiggle dress". Hahaha could you possibly explain? Besides the point, I think this dress looks amazing on you and I think that it fits your style perfectly. You look like you belong in the 50s or in an episode of Mad Men or something. I also like the color against your hair color (which I love btw!) Congrats on both your 2 year anniversary! The food you were describing sounds absolutely delicious... pesto gnocchi mmmmm :) And also congrats on your blog-I-versary! That is quite the accomplishment and I hope that I can be in your shoes someday!

    1. Of course! A wiggle dress is when the silhouette is like a pencil skirt. It's opposite is a swing dress, which has a full skirt (like for swing dancing). I always go for the swing style but this time I tried a wiggle. Change is good sometimes! Thank you so much Olivia! I'm sure you will be ♥

  17. Your comments about your night out had me chuckling but it sure sounds like you had a fantastic night. Congrats you two (and also on the blog-versary!)

This is an interesting dress- it is very different for you, but fashion is fun to experiment with.

  18. Love your dress. I've been looking for this but it's so hard to find now especially in my size L. I tried the swing version of the dress at the Bettie Page store (back when it was Bettie Page) in Vegas and I found with the material, the cut, the collar it was just all too much. So maybe you aren't missing anything not getting this in the swing style... although it might have just been me ;) Congratulations on your 4 years of blogging and on your 2nd year wedding anniversary! :)

    1. Awww okay so maybe I don't feel so bad about not having the swing version. I'd suggest keeping your eye out on eBay. I see it on there occasionally!

  19. You look amazing in a wiggle dress! I don't own any, but I'd love to add some to collection. I'm a bit weird about super form-fitting clothes, but I always love seeing other girls wear them. I should give it a go. xo
