I love a well-made vintage inspired dress, especially when it comes from someone like Gail. As the woman behind Red Ruby Vintage, Gail makes every piece with love and it truly shows through her workmanship. While I have many of her creations in my closet, this beautiful dress is easily one of my favorites! I took her out on her maiden voyage while shooting with my friend, Susie. It was nice just being in front of the camera for this post and Susie is such a wonderful photographer to work with. Great dress + great photographer = a fun, relaxing day!

This handmade dress is made from a 1954 pattern with a novelty "belt and buckle" printed cotton fabric from the 1960's. It features a square neckline in the front and back, fitted bodice, and a full skirt with knife pleats. Gail also included a one-inch belt with a matching white buckle. I love the nautical feel to this dress, which just so happened to be perfect for the location we chose. While this particular dress is a "one only" in this style and print, Gail makes all kinds of gorgeous dresses and separates for your vintage wardrobe needs!
Mother's Day is just around the corner and I cannot wait! This day usually includes brunch with my mother-in-law, flowers, and cute cards from my husband and daughter. While I feel appreciated every day, it's nice to have a dedicated day just for me. What are you doing for Mother's Day? Let me know in the comments below!

really pretty photos!
ReplyDeleteMy first mothers' day! Buuuut.... pretty sure we are doing nothing. The baby is still learning how to be in public (he is incredibly vocal and until about 3 weeks ago was super colicky). Plus, we've all been so sick. Relaxing at home sounds perfect though.
ReplyDeleteLove the dress.
Love this dress on you and your photos are beautiful! xo
