Makeup Review: Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

Okay, so this palette was pretty much at the top of my Christmas list last month.  I was dying to have it and I couldn't wait to play with all the new shades.  I was a daily user of the Naked 2 palette, and as a lover of all things pink, the Naked 3 was after my own heart.

I'm not one to use darker eyeshadow shades.  While I know how to blend, the "smokey eye" looks absolutely horrible on me.  That may also be the reason why I don't own the original Naked palette.  The last four shades in the Naked 3, while gorgeous, I have been too scared to even try.  The Blackheart shade actually has red flecks of glitter but it's just too dark for my extremely light skin tone.  I may experiment with the three deep browns in the future, but I've stuck mostly with the remaining eight shades.

My favorites are definitely the Buzz and Dust shades.  I love a light rosy hue with lots of shimmer.  I had a conversation with Jessica (who also owns the Naked 3) and she mentioned that she wished Buzz were a little darker.  I have to agree.  All the shades I've tried tend to show up lighter on the lid than they show on the palette.  It's a little disappointing but not a deal breaker.  Like all Urban Decay eyeshadows, they last all day without reapplication.  At least the quality of the product hasn't been compromised :).

So what's the verdict?  Well, I'm still a daily Naked 2 user (mainly for my eyebrows).  While I love the new shades, I just don't think they match up to the previous palette.  Maybe I just need to play with it a little more but I'm leaning strongly towards the Naked 2.

Do you own the Naked 3?  What do you think?

Seeing Spots

 Dress- Delia's
Shoes- Steve Madden
Jewelry- Tiffany New York
Bag- Vintage
Lip color- Urban Decay

I was really excited to snag another gem from Delia's (here is my first one).  Not only is this dress super cute, I got it on clearance for twenty dollars!  I've always been a fan of classic cuts and a full skirt.  Plus I'm a sucker for any polka dot print.

I'm really excited for this weekend because my brother (the one who has been in and out of the hospital) and his girlfriend are moving into the apartment complex directly across the street!  As of right now they are a good 30 minutes away in my old hometown, now they will be about 30 steps away.  I love showing people new restaurants and bars... I just have to wait until my brother's girlfriend turns 21 in a few weeks so we can paint the town red!

Made in the USA

 Top- H&M
Shorts- Angl (old)
Shoes- Go Jane
Clutch- Vintage
Ring- Forever 21

The minute my friend Jill posted these shoes on her Instagram I knew I needed them!  Considering they were only 35 dollars, it didn't take much convincing to guilt myself into buying them.  I love the print so much and I am attracted to anything with a t-strap and a platform.  I really wanted to do a "modern pinup" feel, so I wore some high waist khaki shorts with a loose top.  If I'm showing some leg (which is rare) I cover up everything else!

I consider myself privileged to live in the United States (let alone southern California) because my mother and her family immigrated here from Argentina when she was a girl.  While Argentina is gorgeous, it doesn't offer the opportunities that this country does.  I am very proud to be a first generation born American and I'm very proud of my Argentinian roots on both sides of my family :)

Hope you have a great weekend!  And if you haven't voted for me on Tulle's stylist competition, please do it HERE!

Hello Bows

 Top- Forever21
Skirt- Urban Outfitters
Shoes- Target
Bag- Forever 21
Ring- Betsey Johnson

There are two things about this outfit that I want to brag about.  First being my nails, I put these nail polish stickers on almost 3 weeks ago and no chips!  They've grown out though so I have to take it off... Still very impressed!  The second being the 8 dollar clearance blue wedges from Target.  I went in to drop off a prescription, I left with some awesome cheap shoes as well.  Nothing makes me happier than a good find!

I guess you can tell by my recent posts that I'm really into the cropped top/high waist bottom combo.  It allows me to get out of my conservative comfort zone without feeling insecure.  This shoulder bag is my "concert purse".  I love to take it to shows because it holds your must have items without it being bulky and cumbersome.  I hope you guys like it!

I'm looking forward to a weekend with next to no plans... It's been awhile since I've had one of those.  I know it's only Thursday but I'm already wishing for the weekend!  What are your plans?

xoxo
