Selkie The Monet Day Dress

I've been obsessing over Selkie for some time and they've completely won me over with their new Day Dress style!  While they're famous for their classic puff dresses, the puff is much too short for everyday wear and the organza material in the California summer is *horrendous*.  The Day Dress is made in a crisp cotton which is perfect for all seasons and the length is just right for me.  This dress is easily my new favorite style and I can't wait to tell you all about it!

The Day Dress is a cottagecore dream that features a corset-style bodice, a square neckline with a bow in the center, lined puffed sleeves, and a below-the-knee length skirt.  The sleeves have extra fabric so they keep that puffed up shape and the dress is finished with a back zippered closure.  I'm wearing a size small, which is my usual Selkie size.  It does give a little with wear but I wouldn't advise sizing down (like with other cotton Selkie dresses).  I also have the Day Dress in Citrus Trip print in a size XS and I find the fit just a little more restricting but not by much.  Basically, go with your usual size!  This Monet print is absolutely lovely and it was the perfect match with my pink bruja hat.  My only gripe is that this dress does not have pockets.  I would give it a perfect score if pockets were included!

The Day Dress is *extremely* popular and usually sells out within minutes.  I know they're bringing this print and many others back later this year so your best bet is to follow Selkie on Instagram to get all the info on restocks.  This dress is made in sizes XXS-5X and is ethically made in China.  While their items are on the pricier side, they're worth every penny to get a beautiful, high quality product and support an inclusive, woman-owned small business.

Do you own any Selkie dresses?  How do you feel about them?  Let me know in the comments below!

xoxo

Ashley
