Layer Cake

 Top- Thrifted (Banana Republic)
Skirt- Forever 21 (old)
Tights- H&M
Shoes- Unknown
Necklace- Gift
Ring- Forever 21

Going thifting here in LA can actually be pretty cool.  While you still have to sift through mounds of stuff, the rewards are so much better.  I used to live in a not so far away suburb where thrifting was basically going to the Salvation Army.  Not that it's a bad thing, but thrifting here in LA it is easy to find pieces from Juicy, Betsey Johnson, Missoni, and more.

The first time I ever thrifted in LA I bought this Banana Republic shirt.  I love the color (purple is my favorite), the delicate details, and the buttons.  I rarely wear it, mainly because it gets swallowed by other items in my closet, but I love pairing it with this skirt.  It also has delicate details, I especially love the bling on the back zipper.  It also reminds me of a cake... I have no idea why.

Question! I love your HAIR. I've been trying to do my hair like this and cannot figure out how and no one with shorter hair curls it...what is the TRICK?

    1. Okay, it's actually pretty easy. Take a 1" curling iron you're not worried about breaking(smaller and the curls will be too tight and larger won't do anything for short hair) and unhinge the clamp part. Basically you want a curling "wand" because the clamp part actually changes the curl in your hair. Section your hair off starting at the bottom and wrap your hair around the wand away from your face. Make sure to hold the ends of the section you're curling (I never let the heat touch my ends) and wait a few seconds before releasing. I usually section my hair off in four sections and curl about four per section. If my explanation is confusing, let me know and I'll send you some pics :)

    2. I think I understand! I was actually about to buy a curling wand because it looked more appropriate for my hair. I'm going to try it and if it doesn't work I'll ask for photos!
