Like A Braided Bandit

Braided Bandit Vintage dress 008

Who says shoulder pads are a big no-no these days?  When I got this vintage gem from The Braided Bandit I was excited to see shoulder pads sewn into this dress.  I love how it accentuates the unique sleeve and I think it makes the dress stand out a little more.  That doesn't mean I want to add them to all my dresses, I just want to preserve the style of this one.

If you're in the Los Angeles area, I'm inviting you to join me on Friday, November 21st at Holiday in the Park!  There's going to be live music, lots of food, an appearance by Santa, and lots of local merchants (including Unique Vintage and Pinup Girl Boutique) will be participating so you can get your shop on.  I'll be with the other ladies of Unique Vintage, and together we will be offering free styling (by me), hair, and makeup tips for the perfect pinup look this holiday season.  There's also going to be a sale so you don't want to miss it!

Speaking of my new job, everything is going really well.  It's such a joy to work with like minded ladies, and they all just happen to be really sweet and friendly.  It's been a little difficult leaving Bianca for most of the day, but she's happy with daddy or her grandparents while I'm gone so it makes the transition easier.  It requires the utmost discipline not to spend my entire paycheck at the store but I've been good so far...

xoxo

    1. Thanks, Justine! I seriously shop in my head every shift (and may have a "hold" section in the back room). Christmas always comes way too fast, right?

    1. Thank you! It's ridiculously hard not to shop, it's definitely a test of discipline. It's also a good thing that Bianca is learning how to be away from me. She's super attached to me!

  9. I don't think all shoulder pads are bad either! I have a couple vintage things with shoulder pads! Blazers too. I think this dress is super cute on you. It has such a fun print and the shoulder pads definitely emphasize the sleeve in a good way.
