Pretty Plum

Purple Harlequin Jenny Dress

I feel like it's been forever since I've posted an outfit.  I have so many cute new pieces but I'm entirely too lazy to get out in this crazy heat...  Unless you get out there at 8am.  That's dedication, right?  I got this dress at the Pinup Girl Yard Sale and I'm completely smitten.  I've wanted a Jenny dress for a really long time but knew I should wait for the sample sale.  I'm glad I waited (I love a great deal) but I feel like this beauty should have been in my possession for a long time.  It's wonderful!

Shoes- Steve Madden
Petticoat- Sidecca
Headband- Forever 21

This dress has so many great details.  The boning in the bodice is perfect, the adjustable straps are an important touch, and the skirt is so full.  Seriously, this dress weighs a couple of pounds.  So let the debate begin! Which do I like better: the Jenny dress or Bernie Dexter dresses?  I think I'm going to dedicate an entire post to it, but I will say that it really depends on what you're looking for in a dress.  As someone who recently decided to make less but more high quality purchases, this is really important!

For all you Americans, I hope you're enjoying your holiday weekend.  I've been outside this weekend more than I have in years!  Bianca also had her first pool experience which was really cute.  Now I'm going to enjoy the rest of it :).

xoxo

  9. You look amazing in this dress! So pretty. I agree with buying less, but higher quality items. I only recently started to realize the importance of having quality clothing, even if it means spending $60 on a pair of jeans or a dress!

  12. Gahhh you look fantastic in this Jenny dress! I really love the deep purple on you, and the silhouette fits you like a glove! I have to agree that the PUG dresses have incredible quality (and they're SO heavy!), and the boning is a great touch. And you make a great point about the Bernie/PUG comparison -- it really does depend on what you're looking for. I think PUG tends to win out for dressier options, since Bernie's dresses are cotton, but really, I love both for different reasons. I think Bernie's sizing is still better for my particular proportions, but I know that's not the case for everyone.

  17. I'm really excited for that post! I don't own any PUG dresses or Bernie Dexter dresses. I have really been wanting one, but I am unsure which one to save up for! The Jenny dress has a wonderful shape, though, and it looks lovely on you.

  23. I love the pattern on this dress and the fit on you. Also sometimes (most times) I think that purple is 100% your color.

Your hair looks so shiny and perfect in these photos (not that it usually doesn't but) what are you using in it?!

    1. I don't know why I don't own more purple, it's definitely my favorite color!

I've been using Kevin Murphy products but I haven't been doing anything different. I do drink A LOT of water though, that might have something to do with it? It's also super faded and dirty in those pictures LOL
