Best of 2016

I think I can say with confidence that most of us were excited to say goodbye to 2016.  While there were lots of highs, it felt like a stagnant year for me.  I will admit that I had a great time this year here on my blog.  I changed my hair color, ventured out of my style comfort zone, and made so many new friends!  I'm going to focus on the positives and bring you the best of 2016!  Here's your top four posts:

  1. Crimson Clover
  2. Beyond the Sea
  3. Daffodil
  4. White Christmas
I think broadening my horizons and dabbling in 40's inspired styles paid off.  My Crimson Clover outfit from Trashy Diva was your favorite!  I wanted to get in some more accessories in 2016, and while I didn't necessarily succeed, I feel like I did a lot better than the previous year.  I'm still big on novelty prints and swing skirts.  I'm assuming that will never change!

Here are a few of my favorites:

  1. Forget Me Not Floral
  2. Open Book
  3. Lucy Dots
  4. Red Jenny

  2. Hansel & Gretel
  3. Snow White
  4. Wine Dots
In 2016 I fell hard for Trashy Diva, Hearts and Found and Atomic Jax, while keeping my love affair with Unique Vintage, Bernie Dexter, and Pinup Girl Clothing going.  I've invested in a lot of smaller, ethical companies and continue to search for the next new brand with those same standards.  I've noticed my blogging has slowed down a bit (I decided to be more present in the real world) and I'm proud of that.  Sometimes blogging can be stressful and even stop feeling fun.  To maintain a healthy balance I've decided to cut back a lot.  As I go into my sixth year of blogging, I want to still feel that passion like I had in the beginning.  If it means I blog only 1-2 times a week to keep that love alive, then so be it!  I want to continue to show you my closet, find you the best new online goodies, and even get a little more in-depth with makeup and hair reviews/tutorials.  2017 is looking really great and I can't wait for another year here on my blog!

What would you like to see more/less of here?  Let me know in the comments below!

  1. I'm new to the blog and love it! Good for you for prioritizing balance! I'm excited to check out some of your favorite brands. I'm a big fan of the retro look, though don't have a lot of pieces yet in my closet.
    Happy New Year!
