Silver Bells

It's funny how I can look into a closet filled with dresses and still convince myself that I have nothing to wear.  This dress was a Modcloth purchase from last year for my brother's wedding.  I'm one of his fiance's bridesmaids and she picked this gorgeous dress for her wedding in May.  I think it's wonderful for a wedding but can also be worn for everyday wear.  Although I refuse to wear it out until they're married.  It needs to perfect for their big day!

Bright Like A Dying Star

I know I've been gushing about Jessica's closet lately but who can blame me?!  If you haven't figured it out this dress is another borrowed gem.  There have been many times where we have both lusted for the same dress.  One of us always gives in to temptation and the other has the option to borrow it.  It's been a great system these past couple of years and our closets basically double.  I find this even more valuable these days since I don't really have much disposable income.  I spend most of my money on diapers now.  How one year can change everything...

My Heart Is Full

Happy Valentine's Day!  I'm not really one to celebrate this holiday but having a baby made me reconsider that decision.  I think it's wonderful that my husband will have two valentines from now on and I made sure he got a card from the both of us :).  This was also the first time I've taken outfit pictures with Bianca.  She did so well and I was really excited to get her dressed up for this special day.  Check out her debut!

What's on My Radar: Current Loves

I know it's the dead of winter but I'm already looking forward to spring.  Not because the weather is much better (we tend to have only 1-2 seasons out here) but because pastels start making their way out of your closet.  I'm the kind of person who will wear bright colors all year but it's fun to see what's out this season.  Here are my handpicked favorites:

Modcloth Jukebox Jubilee Cardigan

You can never have too many polka dot cardigans!  I think this piece would brighten up any outfit, especially if you want to take that cute winter LBD into spring.

Lulu's Laced Night Dress

Okay, I know this is being advertised as a "dress", but I think this would be a great sexy nightgown.  I love the color and the lace on the bottom is so pretty.  You can still look fabulous, even if you're just going to bed :).

UrbanOG Round Toe Ballet Flat

 I've been looking for some cute pink ballet flats and these are surely my favorite.  I tend to go through ballet flats like crazy and I need to have a pair in every color.  These are not only practical but perfectly priced.

Ruche Peace Be Yours Crocheted Jacket

Who wouldn't want to add this adorable crocheted jacket to their wardrobe?  This piece can instantly transform a plain t shirt and jeans outfit into something whimsical and feminine.  I'd personally wear it with one of my favorite printed dresses for some extra texture.

Modcloth Chalk of the Town Dress

This is a pastel lovers dream!  It's also on my Modcloth wishlist.  The dress has a great full skirt that is dying to be paired with a petticoat.

Being Human

It's been over a month since I've given birth and all I can think about is yoga.  In about two weeks I'll be cleared to work out again and I really can't wait.  Although I've gone back to my old size (except my chest... that will remain "out of control" until I decide to stop breastfeeding) I have no muscle tone.  I was pretty bummed when I was forced to stop working out many months ago and the hiatus has had quite an effect on both my body and my self image.  I hate to sound like I'm obsessed, but I guess I'm just really determined to feel normal again.  It's not a matter of "if" but "when".  I happen to be a self motivated obsessive compulsive person with a great desire to have some inner peace these days.

One Month

Well, it's been exactly one month since Bianca was born.  It's been a month full of love, labor, change, and complete happiness.  I'm so proud to be a mom to such a wonderful little girl.  If only I were guaranteed such a perfect second baby I might have considered having another.  As for now, I just want to enjoy every second I have with my daughter and pretty much spoil her to death.

Bianca Belle

Last week my sister and I took Bianca for her first set of baby pictures.  Of course, like any proud mommy, I went a little overboard and got A TON of pictures.  I'm sharing just a few of my favorites in this post today :)

I feel like she already looks so different!  I'm constantly taking pictures because I want to capture every stage with her.  Maybe it's a little obsessive but I want to hold as many memories as possible.  I also have some Valentine's Day shots but I'll save those for the 14th.

 

I want to officially apologize for the lack of outfit posts lately.  I'm still trying to master the art of multitasking and I have yet to incorporate photography into that mix.  I have about ten outfits I'm dying to shoot, I'm hoping I'll have some "mommy break time" this weekend so I can share them on the blog next week.  I think I'll eventually get into the swing of things, it's just a little overwhelming in the beginning.  I'm just happy I have this blog to document the ups and the downs of parenthood.

Remix: Polka dot cardigan

Happy Monday!  It's been awhile since I've posted a remix so I decided to feature one of my favorite pieces: my Forever 21 polka dot cardigan.  I probably wear this cardigan about once a week, I truly love to pair it with pretty much anything.  I also have it in two other colors but the white/navy is extremely versatile.  In my opinion, adding a cardigan is a great way to dress down an otherwise "fancy" outfit.  To see any of these outfits in detail, click on the numbers above.

I hope you all had a wonderful Superbowl Sunday!  The plan was to go to a friend's party... But then Bianca was being pretty fussy and we didn't feel like bringing a screaming baby to a party.  So we stayed in our pajamas and watched it at home.  The exciting life as a woman with a newborn :)
