Any Tim Burton fans read my blog?  As someone who grew up with Tim Burton films, I tend to have a deep feeling of nostalgia when I rewatch them.  Corpse Bride is a hauntingly beautiful tale and my daughter was *obsessed* when she first watched it when she was 3 years old.  I hunted down very old (and sometimes expensive) Corpse Bride merchandise for her because she loved Emily so much.  Luckily, La Femme En Noir has teamed up with Tim Burton's Corpse Bride and created a beautiful collection of clothing and accessories, some of which I now own (and Bianca borrows).

The Beyond the Veil dress is made from a thicker stretch poly blend material and features a v-neckline, billowy sleeves with Victorian cuffs, fitted bodice, an a-line skirt with hidden side pockets, and finished with a matching grommet belt and a back zippered closure.  I'm wearing my usual size small in La Femme En Noir and the small is a perfect fit.  I know lots of customers like to size down when the fabric is stretchy but I would *highly* recommend you take your actual size because the print will distort if it's stretched too much.  The print is my favorite part and I love how they took their time to make sure it looks good on every piece.

I finished my look with the Emily bag and I seriously fell in love with it!  It's so detailed and surprisingly fits everything I need.  Bianca immediately took the Emily bag to her closet so I'm pretty sure that means I need to buy another one.  I'm definitely not going to see it again!

Lover Not A Fighter

 

In my opinion, there are never enough heart prints and the ones I have get wear throughout the entire year!  Sarsparilly's True Love collection is everything a vintage-loving novelty print hoarding person could want.  The Lover Not A Fighter skirt is probably one of my most favorite silhouettes in my skirt collection... and I have a *vast* skirt collection.  It has the perfect amount of volume, doesn't require a crinoline and has a fantastic fit.  Basically, it's perfect!

This amazing skirt is made from a crisp mid-weight cotton sateen and features a full gathered silhouette, deep hidden side pockets, a matching grommet belt with belt loops, and a back zippered closure.  I'm wearing my usual Sarsparilly size XS, which is a size below my usual size small in most other clothing brands.  It's the perfect fit and honestly, it feels like this piece was made for my body.  I love it so much!

When you live that spooky life but also love wearing pink!  Sarsparilly just dropped their True Love collection and every piece is a slice of happiness.  This dress is definitely a star in that collection and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it!  If you're new to Sarsparilly, you'll definitely be impressed with the quality of every piece.  Keep scrolling to find out more!

The Gift dress is made from a sturdy, crisp cotton sateen and features a high keyhole neckline with a bow, sleeveless fitted bodice, gathered swing skirt with deep pockets, back zippered closure with a button at the top, and a removable matching grommet belt.  I'm wearing my usual size XS in Sarsparilly and the fit is great!  If you're not a regular customer, I would mention that sizing tends to be a whole size larger that your usual.  For example, I'm a pretty straight size small in most clothing lines but I'm an XS in Sarsparilly.  The bodice is quite short so I wasn't able to wear the belt on the loops but I have a long torso so that's a pretty common issue for me.  I wore this dress out while running errands the other day and I received so many compliments!  It's truly a statement piece.

I'm gearing up for a hot weekend, which means wearing all the comfy dresses!  If you've been reading this blog for some time, you know that I have a serious love for Sister Jane.  Their silhouettes are romantic, the details are intricate, and the fabrics are always top notch.  My only issue was that they didn't offer extended sizing.  Thanks to some progress on their part, they have extended their sizing on their new collections!  This dress is one of many offered in their new size range and I can't express how much I love wearing this absolute showstopper.

The Angelica dress is made from a jacquard fabric with a springy print and features puff sleeves, bust cups, a black bow detail at the bust and an ankle length skirt with a front slit and a peplum hem.  I'm wearing my usual dress size, which is a medium, and it fits great.  As someone with a large bust, I wish the cups were fuller but I also understand that not everyone has the same issues as I do.  Sister Jane ships from the UK but I tend to shop their collections on Ivory Sheep, which is an amazing small Canadian business.  They carry many of my favorite brands and their customer service can't be beat!

I've been living in all the cotton dresses lately!  Whether I'm working or on the go, I prefer to be comfortable while maintaining my style.  Since the sun is out longer (and let's be real, it's much hotter too) I've finally been able to pull out my vast selection of sun hats.  I love every single piece The Beheaded puts out and this Amanita Muscaria hat is perfect for spring!  Cute, spooky and keeps the sun away... It's the perfect witchy accessory!

Handmade and totally unique, this hat is made from recycled paper and features a wired brim to keep its shape.  The hat is hand painted and is finished with an attached red ribbon.  If red isn't your color, you can also snag one in brown HERE!

Easter is this weekend and we have absolutely nothing planned.  We've been so busy with work that we nearly forgot about it all together!  I haven't decided if I'm going to cook or not, especially since Bianca is a vegetarian, but there's one thing I absolutely cannot forget... The Easter Bunny must show up and bring Bianca lots of treats!  Fingers crossed I can get something memorable together in time!
