Lotus

Paisley Raye Lotus Dress in Black

I guess it's no coincidence that my favorite holiday is during my favorite season.  Maybe that's why I rock all my spooky pieces two months before Halloween (and technically all year around)?  While some of my clothing is Halloween specific, this Lotus dress from Paisley Raye has that witchy vibe without being too kitschy.  I love wearing this dress as-is or belting it for a more form-fitting look.  It's incredibly versatile but I'm having lots of fun styling it for my favorite time of year!

The Lotus dress is made right here in the USA and features a high neckline, gorgeous bell sleeves, and hidden side pockets.  It's a stretch jersey-like fabric so it's super comfortable to wear and has a lot of stretch.  I'm wearing my usual size small and I love the fit!  Like I said before, I like to throw a belt on top for a more form-fitting look, but I love the shape it gives on its own.  It's available in sizes XS-4X and retails for $53, which is a total steal!  While the Lotus is one of my favorites, Paisley Raye has a bunch of styles I wear on the regular (like the Primrose and the Dahlia).  To read more about this amazing woman-owned business, click HERE!

Unhappy Hour

Retrolicious Unhappy Hour Dress Heart of Haute Estelle Top in Black

Bring on those cooler temps because I'm ready for all the layering!  Retrolicious has wowed me with their Halloween collection this year and I'm quite smitten with this Unhappy Hour dress.  My favorite feature (other than pockets, of course)?  This classic cut is perfect for layering.  If you're spooky year-round like I am, this dress can easily transition into any season.  I'm showing you a "cooler" styling option, but you can wear this alone with ballerina flats and look just as creepy-cute!

The Unhappy Hour dress is made here in the USA from 100% cotton and features a scoop neckline, a-line skirt with side pockets, and a back zippered closure.  I took my usual Retrolicious dress size (small) and I found the fit to be spot on.  I love the print of this dress, there are so many fun monsters to find!  Bianca loves identifying them when I wear it, something tells me she's going to steal this dress from me when she gets big enough!  This dress is available from sizes S-XL and is priced at $79.99.  If monsters aren't your thing, their Halloween collection is huge!  Make sure to check out their other selections HERE.

I started my Halloween posts just a few weeks ago and I'm just so excited about it!  I have plenty of goodies to feature these next several weeks but I won't be posting all of them here.  Make sure to follow me on Instagram to catch all the spooky small businesses on my list!  On days when I'm not posting a blog, I'll be posting to my Instagram.  That way you don't miss a thing!

Autumn in New York

Karina Dresses Margaret Dress in Falling Leaves

I feel like I'm prepping for fall year-round (it is my favorite season) but autumn is officially on the horizon and I couldn't be more ready to transition my wardrobe!  Karina Dresses, one of my favorite woman-owned small businesses, just revealed their new fall collection and I am obsessed.  Deep hues, fun prints, and their signature wrinkle-free fabric?  I'm all in!

Hat- Modcloth
Brooch- Kirbee Lawler
Lipstick- c/o Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in Sunscape

The Margaret dress is a middy length dress that features a crossover bust, short sleeves, twirl-worthy skirt, and an attached sash that I've tied in the back.  I love Karina Dresses, not only because they're ethically made right here in the USA, but because they're really flattering to all body types.  The wrinkle-free micro fiber fabric is soft to the touch and 100% machine washable.  It's totally a "throw on and go" kind of dress but makes you look (and feel) like a million bucks!  I got my usual size extra small and it was the perfect fit.  Make sure you check out their entire fall collection, I'm about to get my shop on right now!

I'm currently trying to up my accessory game.  While I don't wear much jewelry (except brooches), I love to add flair through hats, hair bows, and sunglasses.  Do you have a favorite (preferably a small business) place to get accessories?  Let me know in the comments below, I've love to find some new places to shop!

A Haunting We Will Go

My favorite time of the year is upon us which means: Erstwilder just released their Halloween collection!  Designed by Donna Mizzi, this frightful range features ten brooches and one necklace.  I've featured my picks in this post, scroll down to see them all (but do so at your own risk)!

Remember the fan-favorite Light of the World brooch from last year's Christmas range?  Well, it's made a spooktacular return for Halloween!  Bright and sparkly and perfectly colored, this brooch is for those who love Halloween but consider themselves more cute than creepy.  Thanks to these gorgeous colors, I can definitely see myself wearing this one all through fall as well!

Top- Vixen by Micheline Pitt
Lipstick- c/o Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in Peony

My personal favorite from this range, The Witching Hour is bright, sparkly, and topped off with moving parts (look at that little dangling star)!  I feel like purple isn't utilized enough when it comes to Halloween decorating and this brooch definitely scratches that itch for me.  I may be wrong but I feel like this will be the first one to sell out!

Erstwilder Will-O the Wisp Pumpkin Brooch

Top- c/o Lady K Loves
Skirt- Vixen by Micheline Pitt
Lipstick- c/o Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Sad Girl

A classic homage to all things spooky, Erstwilder had to include a pumpkin in this year's collection.  Will-O is a larger size with bright, solid resin and the cutest friendly pumpkin smile.  I've been wearing him on all my spooky outfits lately, he's truly the perfect festive accessory!

Can't get enough Halloween cuteness?  You can check out and purchase the entire range HERE.  Which brooch is your favorite?  Let me know in the comments below!

Nocturnal Bat

Retrolicious Nocturnal Swing Dress Deer Arrow Lady Death Brooch

Is there anything better than a little black dress?  I would say a spookified little black dress!  Retrolicious just released their Halloween collection and it's packed with fun novelty prints, sexy silhouettes, and everything in between!  I fell head over heels for this Nocturnal Swing Dress: velvet details, light fabrics, and a bat shaped collar.  It's pretty much everything I've ever wanted in a spooky LBD!

The Nocturnal Swing Dress is made from a woven stretch fabric and features sheer swiss dot long sleeves, velvet cuffs and collar, velvet covered non functional buttons down the bodice, elastic waist, gathered skirt, matching velvet grommet belt, and full back zippered closure.  This dress has so many fine details but is also incredibly easy to wear, I am totally in love!  I took my usual size small and the fit is spot-on.  I paired this dress with my new Lady Death brooch from Deer Arrow.  I can't even explain how amazing their new Halloween collection is!  Keep your eyes peeled for their release tomorrow night, their brooches fly off their site in literal minutes!

I can't wait to take this outfit to Disneyland when the Halloween decorations come out...  Which is (thankfully) at the end of this week!  I'm planning on going the first day of their Halloween season.  I need all the fun merch and can't wait to get on the Nightmare Before Christmas/Haunted Mansion ride again!
