Josephine

Hearts and Found Josephine Dress in Solid Red Chambray

I'm trying to keep cool in this already sweltering summer heat with light, fun sundresses.  Thankfully, Hearts and Found has an endless variety of pieces to liven up my wardrobe without breaking the bank.  If you aren't already familiar with Hearts and Found (I've been raving about them for years!), they offer custom measurements on all their items for no extra charge.  The Josephine dress is a new style in their shop so I had to try it out!  With a fun cutout back feature and a super full skirt, this dress was the perfect addition to my summer closet.

Hat- Amazon (similar)
Hair flowers- Isha's Garden

The Josephine features a sweetheart neckline, adjustable straps, open back with a tie feature, fully lined skirt with pockets, and a back zipper with top button closure.  I really do love this dress, it's great for summer and an easy "throw on and go" type of dress.  The bodice of my dress is a little tight (I chose custom measurements and I feel like it's a bit smaller than my other Hearts and Found dresses), but otherwise I'm very happy with this dress.  I feel like you should know that the tie back feature is pretty difficult to tie on your own.  I purposely didn't have anyone help me with it so I could show how it looks when you have to tie it alone.  There is a hook and eye closure to help, but it was still pretty hard.  Maybe I'm not as flexible as I thought!  I feel like I'm going to live in this dress all season, this cute cut mixed with this chambray fabric is a match made in heaven!

I'm really excited about this week's happenings.  Erstwilder has a fun release tomorrow night (you can keep up with my picks on Instagram once they release) and I have a super fun giveaway planned later this week.  I can't wait to share the details in these next few days, stay tuned!

What's On My Radar: Current Loves

Now that's we're approaching summer (it very much already feels like it here), I'm thinking about all the fun outfits to accommodate the heat.  Whether it's vintage, vintage-inspired, or just plain quirky; I've featured lots of great things for your summer wardrobe.  You can check out all my picks below!

Birthday Life Vintage
  1. 50's Mediterranean Novelty Print Cotton Brown Pink Printed Full Swing Skirt
  2. 50's Pink Cotton Sundress Pintuck Floral Trim Tie Straps Full Skirt Day Dress
  3. 1970's Striped Gingham Cotton Sundress Teal Blue Full Skirt Day Dress
  4. 50's Rainbow Pom Pom Dingle Ball Cotton Navy Blue Swing Skirt
So, I recently made a purchase with Birthday Life Vintage and I can't wait to order more!  This shop is literally full of gorgeous pieces spanning through all kinds of stylish eras.  I have about twenty items in my cart right now, I have such a hard time deciding what to buy first.  I'm thinking that Mediterranean skirt will be mine (if y'all don't get to her first)!

I’m Your Present
  1. Lisa Lizard Queen Earrings
  2. Firecracker Popsicle Earrings
  3. Glitter Sushi Pins
  4. Krusty the Clown Earrings
While I love me some acrylic jewelry, I'm obsessed with Simpson's themed acrylic jewelry!  I need those Lisa earrings in my life, they're just so perfect!  My daughter loves Krusty so I'm hoping I can get him made in a brooch just for her (her ears aren't pierced).  If you're not a Simpson's fan (whyyyyyyy), there are tons of other fun, quirky things to fall in love with.

Seamstress of Bloomsbury
  1. Lauren Siren Suit in Navy Blue with White Spots
  2. Grace Blouse in Green Doggy
  3. Isabelle Skirt in Green Doggy
I featured a Seamstress of Bloomsbury outfit in a post earlier this week, but I had to show off some more of my favorites!  I'm dying over this gorgeous green doggy print and I want nothing more than to put those separates together.  I've also been super intrigued with jumpsuits, I feel like I need to try one.  This Lauren siren suit seems like such a great statement piece!

Dethrose Vintage
  1. Rose Rhumba Ruffle Dress
  2. Tropical Print Crop Top & Lavender Rayon Wide Leg Pants
  3. Roxanne Adams Plaid Dress
  4. Carlye Eyelet Party Dress
Dethrose Vintage has been one of my favorite vintage shops for years.  It's such a wonderfully curated shop and if you're local to the Chicago area, you can shop in person.  There's always a vast amount of fun colorful pieces and I pretty much want everything.  Surprising, I know!

Target Museum of Ice Cream
  1. Boys' 2pk Banana Crew Socks
  2. Girls' Ruffle Short Sleeve Cherry Print Woven Top
  3. Boys' Banana Print Woven Short Sleeve Button-Down Shirt
  4. Girls' Sprinkle Scarf
Is anyone else as obsessed with Target's Museum of Ice Cream collection as much as I am?  While it's technically a kid's collection, I've been grabbing things for my closet.  They have everything from clothing to accessories, for the kid or the kid at heart!  I'm dying for that sprinkle scarf, I keep looking for it at my local Target but I'm never lucky enough to find it.  Thankfully, you can shop the entire collection online!

Shopbop
  1. Love of My Life Dress
  2. Sleeveless Dress with Pleated Ruffle
  3. Paradise Maxi Dress
  4. Sun Valley Jumpsuit
While vintage style truly has my heart, I find myself adding more modern pieces to my closet.  I love Shopbop because they have an endless selection of stylish goodies and they're eligible with Amazon Prime (hi, I'd like my order fast... Amazon fast).  That Love of My Life dress looks like the perfect "throw on and go" kind of dress, which is basically the kind of wardrobe I need every day.  Adulting is hard, your wardrobe doesn't have to be!

What are you lusting after this month?  If you have any stores you'd like to share with me, let me know in the comments below!

By the Seaside

Seamstress of Bloomsbury Greta Blouse in Powder Blue Thelma Skirt in Seaside Print

I feel like I have two distinct styles: all black everything and colorful princess.  This is obviously the latter of the two and I couldn't be more obsessed with these Seamstress of Bloomsbury separates!  This is actually my first outfit from this small London-based business but I'm quite certain it won't be my last.  You can read my full review for the Greta blouse and Thelma skirt below!

The Greta blouse is made from a light, crepe de chine rayon and features a statement collar, gathering at the shoulders on the sleeve, and a true wrap style closure.  I took a size UK10 and honestly, I could have easily sized down.  Because of the wrap feature I was able to cinch it to a desirable fit.  I love the fabric, I feel like it's perfect for the very hot summer we're already having.  I can't wait to style it with high-waist palazzo pants for an easy breezy date night with Kevin!

The Thelma skirt is made from a sturdy but soft cotton fabric and features a thick waistband with belt loops, true circle style skirt with beautiful exposed front pockets and a zippered closure.  Like the Greta blouse, I also took a UK10.  This skirt was was a great fit, considering I'm usually a UK8.  If you're in between sizes I would definitely recommend sizing up!  I love the gorgeous seaside print, it truly keeps longing for a much needed vacation at bay.  I'm also planning to use this skirt as a swim coverup, I have a swim top that's basically the perfect match for this skirt.  Since I don't actually swim in the water, I feel like this skirt will get lots of wear under a cabana with a cool, fruity drink in hand!

Have you shopped with Seamstress of Bloomsbury before?  What's your go-to piece?  Let me know in the comments below!

Priscilla

The Pretty Dress Company Priscilla Candy Stripe Midi Dress Southern California Belle

I'm going to be honest, I've been in a bit of a funk lately.  It's not really anything in particular but sometimes you just don't feel like yourself.  I took a good week off blogging (which was much needed) and focused my energy on myself and Bianca.  Last week I took Bianca to the park and decided to shoot this gorgeous Priscilla dress from The Pretty Dress Company while she played.  She burned off some energy, pose coached me in between slide runs, and I felt like an absolute princess in this confectionery dream of a dress!

The Priscilla dress is made from a soft but sturdy stretch cotton blend and features a fully lined bodice, fully adjustable spaghetti straps, deep scoop neck in the front and back, super full box pleated midi skirt with massive hidden side pockets, and an invisible back zippered closure.  I'm being 100% honest when I say this dress is a dream!  Because of its structure there's no need for a petticoat and I'm obsessed with the way the skirt moves when I walk.  This dress does tend to run large, I'm usually a size UK8 and I needed to order a custom size in the Priscilla.  Make sure you read their size charts carefully (they're incredibly accurate) and if you need something custom, you can always shoot them an email to ask!  Overall, I'm incredibly happy with this dress.  They've added pockets to all their Priscilla dresses which is a huge plus for me.  I can't wait to add more to my Pretty Dress collection (this minty striped version is calling my name)!

Favourites

When Erstwilder releases recolors of their favorite brooches, you run to see if your all-time favorites are included!  I'm super excited about their newest release (conveniently called Favourites) and I'm here to show you my picks from the collection below!

Untitled

Erstwilder Ula the Unicorn Brooch

Brooch- c/o Erstwilder
Top- Target
Sunglasses- Betty and Veronica

Ula is definitely one of my favorites (who doesn't love unicorns?!) and I'm really smitten with this new color.  This time around she has gorgeous lilac marbled hair, a rainbow striped horn, and a white sparkly body.  She's perfect for pride month, don't you think?!

Untitled

Erstwilder From the Deep Brooch

Brooch- c/o Erstwilder
Top- Target
Sunglasses- c/o Modcloth

This is actually my first From the Deep brooch and I am all about these amazing new hues!  Purple is my favorite color so I'm super jazzed about the giant squid.  He's wrapped around a grey marbled ship and highlighted with turquoise sparkly waves.  I also love the white to blue gradient sky, which is new for this brooch.  Basically, he's perfect!

Untitled

Erstwilder Ruby the Booby Brooch

Brooch- c/o Erstwilder
Top- c/o Seamstress of Bloomsbury
Sunglasses- Old (similar)

I have always wanted a Ruby brooch in my life but I've never had the opportunity... until now!  This time, Ruby is sporting the same gorgeous textured body but with deep red marbled feet and brown marbled wings.  I'm in love with his cute expression and I'm so glad he's finally mine!

These are only three of the fourteen recolored brooches, and let me say, they're all amazing!  You can see which of your favorites are in the new collection HERE.  Which brooch would you like to see make a reappearance?  Let me know in the comments below!
