Maggie May

Voodoo Vixen Maggie May dress

If you haven't noticed, I've been doing my best to get outside of my personal style comfort zone this year.  I'm playing with separates, wearing shorts, and incorporating wiggle dresses into my wardrobe.  I've been having so much fun experimenting with other styles and it feels kind of liberating to do something different.  It's like exercising a creative muscle that's been dormant for some time.  Without realizing it, I've become more comfortable in my body and I've come leaps and bounds from the lows I felt after I had Bianca.  Maybe it sounds dumb, but I'm really proud of myself!

This Maggie May dress from Voodoo Vixen is quite the conversation starter.  I can't remember the last time I received so many non creepy compliments from random men!  The print screams summer time and takes me back to my favorite vacation spot in Kona.  This particular cut runs rather large, especially in the bust.  I was able to belt it to make it fit better, but I wish it came in a smaller size!

I'm taking Bianca to the doctor for her 18 month checkup today.  I can't believe it's already been a year and a half.  I know everyone tells you how quickly time seems to slip away when you have a child, but I don't think you can ever be fully prepared for it.  She's growing way too fast and I just need time to stay still for awhile... That's not too much to ask, right?

  2. You *should* feel proud of yourself! You've always looked amazing, but it's evident how confident you feel. I never gravitate towards Hawaiian prints, but this one is so fun. <3

  3. So cute and so different! Maybe if you dry it in the dryer after washing it will shrink up a little for you? And I LOVE your description of the "non creepy" compliments! Yes, there is definitely a variety of compliments people deliver - why don't some know how creepy they come off while others do it right?? ;)
