Orange You Glad

Bernie Dexter Paris dress in Juicy Orange print

I've had this dress for a few weeks but was waiting for the perfect time and place to show it off.  About twenty minutes away there are miles of orange groves along a scenic highway.  So I loaded Bianca and my mom into the car for the mini road trip.  There was way more traffic than I anticipated but we somehow made it work.  I also took a few oranges for the ride home.  Overall I'd say it was worth the frustration but I don't think I'll do it again soon!

Shoes- Chelsea Crew (similar)
Petticoat- Unique Vintage
Hair flower- NicCoCo Creations
Belt- Unique Vintage

This is my first Bernie Dexter in the Paris style.  I was initially hesitant to buy one because the top looked a little too snug for my chest.  I'm more than willing to admit when I'm wrong because this dress fits like a dream!  I think it's my new favorite.  Since then I've also purchased the cherry version (which is exclusive to Unique Vintage) and I could easily add a few more.  Any of you busty ladies who think this cut isn't for you should reconsider.  You will love it!

This weekend marks the end of all the crazy February birthdays/celebrations.  As much fun as it is to go out and celebrate, I'm just happy to stay in and eat at home!  Time to detox and work off that restaurant chub, haha!

xoxo

  1. This shoot is perfect - the ones that are the most testing often end up worth the effort I think. So pretty and this dress really does suit you beautifully :) CC x

  4. This dress is spectacular on you! Love the photo shoot in the orange grove! :) I wasn't sure when I ordered this dress either, because of my chest. I ordered up a size, because I didn't want the line of where the bottom of the bust is supposed to be to be too high and weird looking on me. It ended up working out pretty well, and I really love the dress!

  7. I love orange groves. I always visit one when I go to Florida! I love the print of this dress. I would be skeptical about the top fitting weird with my chest too, but it looks great on you! :D

    1. Thanks Sara! I was absolutely worried about it. Luckily, they sell this dress at my work otherwise I don't think I would have ever considered buying this dress online. I think it would look great on you ;)

  8. Ohh Ashley, this dress is so beautiful on you. I wasn't 100% in love with it when it first came out, but it looks so amazing on you that I may have to consider my position. Such a perfect location, too.

  9. This dress is so stunning and I'm in love with the matching location. I really truly am not a fan of the retro clothing revival (especially these big long dresses) which I know I've mentioned before, but you REALLY blow me away with how well they work for you and how well you nail the style completely. I just don't understand why others aren't able to kill it like you? Because seriously, this is one of my favorites of yours!

    1. Ahhhh Jessica, I don't know why but that means SO much coming from you. I think a lot of the reason I love this style is partially because I'll never have my pre baby legs and because it flatters my body type. I'm glad you don't think I look ridiculous! Also, I love you ♥

  14. Wow this dress looks amazing on you! I love the summery orange print so much and the fact that you're holding oranges in front of orange trees makes this post even more awesome. The gold belt you paired with this dress is super cute too. Also the way your purple hair contrasts with the oranges in the dress is my favorite. Just perfect.
