Luck Be A Lady

Luck Be A Lady dress in Geen Plaid

I'm pretty sure green is my new favorite color in my wardrobe.  I don't have many green dresses but I just bought two for Christmas/my birthday and I can't stop wearing them.  This Closet UK dress should be a staple in every wardrobe.  Modcloth sells it in a wide range of colors and prints (this isn't my first one) and I can see a couple more in my future.  It compliments every body type and it's one of the more comfortable dresses I own.  Plus, it has pockets.  You know how important that is!

Tights- H&M
Lipstick- Lime Crime Velvetine in Wicked

I just bought my first Velvetine lip stains from Lime Crime.  I was desperately looking for the Cashmere and Wicked hues and they happened to restock just in time for me to grab them.  Needless to say, I'm obsessed!  I don't want to get into too much detail because I'm planning a makeup post, but it surpasses any lipstick/lip stain I've ever purchased.  It's just so good.

This weekend we're taking Bianca to the Gentle Barn.  It's a safe haven for rescued barn animals and it's open to the public once a week.  Since Bianca loves animals and I hate zoos/circuses, this was a happy medium.  It's important for me to teach her how to love and respect all animals because I want her to grow up in a home much like mine.  Full of spoiled creatures all the time!

  3. I love the Velvetines! I have Suedeberry and Red Velvet and Suedeberry is literally my favourite summer shade, it's beautiful. I find Red Velvet comes out so dark on me it looks like Wicked does on you - which is awesome, by the way. I love the dark, edgy colours in this outfit, paired with your pretty hair! CC x

    1. Thank you so much <3. I was trying to figure out if I wanted Red Velvet or Wicked, but since I have a ton of true reds already I went with the latter. I can't help but be flattered by your compliment, you're the red lip queen!

  5. You look like such a beautiful badass in this outfit!! I love how you gave this dress some edge, and I love the dark lip on you. I had heard that Lime Crime has a drying effect, but with your glowing review, I might be tempted to try their stuff at some point...

    1. I'm not going to lie, it does have a drying effect. But I used a primer beforehand and it worked like a dream!

  6. I think green (especially this green) really works well with your hair color. It is just so pretty. Have fun at the petting zoo/barn/thing. Seems like a great outing for Bianca!

  7. Lovely! I've been following you on the ModCloth style gallery for a while, but this is the first time I've checked out your blog.
It was nice reading about your plans to take your daughter to the GentleBarn. Seems like you have a sweet little family. <3

  8. This dress is so amazing! I love the bold green plaid and how it looks with your purple hair. The leather jacket was a fantastic addition too. You styled it perfectly.

I'm loving this shade of lipstick too, but I stick to my OCC Lip Tars and NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream because I can't stand how Limecrime's founder treated bloggers in the past. It's a shame because they have cool colors but I can't support a CEO that attempts to sue bloggers for slander because they didn't say 100% positive things during a product review. Nope. The shade looks awesome on you though!

    1. I actually stayed away from Lime Crime for a long time because I heard they were claiming they were vegan when they weren't. I'm certainly not disagreeing with you, they've had their fair share of bad publicity, but I can't help but love the Velvetine. I had the OCC Lip Tar in Black Metal Dahlia before I got the Velvetine and while I loved the pigment, it's super sticky. Lime Crime Velvetine is completely kissable which is important to me (I kiss Bianca about 1,000 times a day!) so I had to give in. I certainly respect your reasoning for staying away though!
